“Clean room, ok breakfast, terrible sleep!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

First I will say that the room was very clean. It came with a fridge and microwave. The beds looked comfortable but failed to provide the comfort it appeared to have. The breakfast had a good variety but the sausage links were cold. Overall, I would give this part an average rating.

The main purpose of this room was to provide sleep for my wife and I. The hotel failed miserably in thi category. The door to the hall had such a gaping crack between the frame and door that light and sound passed through it very easily. I could nearly see the hall through the crack. I was booked on the same floor with a bunch of teenage hockey players who pretty much kept us up all night from talking loud, running through the halls, and slamming doors. I had to call to complain as others on the same floor had to. They did not quiet down till after 2 am. There were many rooms open on the other floors. One would think that this place would be smart enough to book their guests away from a group of teenage boys when other rooms are available. I arrived at 4 pm so there is no excuse of why my wife and I had to be booked on the same floor. We did not sleep the whole night. I wasted 118.00 on something I could not even use for its main purpose. To top it all off my card still shows a second (pending) charge by the hotel. The front desk person told me there would be nothing on my credit card as I had paid through the main Hilton website. Pay the extra money and stay at Hyatt Place. That is normally where I stay and I will not make this mistake twice!

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

we stayed here the night before our trip to arizona. The room was comfortable and clean the parking said (free) ut when we arrived we were charged a 25.00 dollar pakin fee so we didn't save money by staying here the night before. When we got back the front desk person gave me his (pittsburgh attitude) when I called for the shuttle because Icalled minutes earlier than should have called. And we left before 6 am so didn't get any breakfast as well. would not recommend.

“No troubles here”

For the price you can't beat this. We stayed only one night and we were very comfortable. This hotel is located a distance from the airport (don't expect to walk) and in the neighborhood of a microcosm of suburban America. The place is in an idyllic setting, with rolling hills and a beautiful, peaceful atmosphere. But, it is surrounded by a collection of faster food restaurants, which, while convenient, don't add to the peace.

The hotel itself is all you would expect. The beds are comfortable, the rooms reasonably spacious, and the breakfast is fine, but my traveling companion told me that the coffee was substandard. Still, a very good bet near Pittsburgh airport.

For a jolt from the ordinary, try a drive down to Pittsburgh through the Fort Pitt Tunnel

“Nice stay. Clean Room. Service - Not Quite There”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Upon check-in at the Hampton Inn-airport in Pittsburgh, we found that the pillows were down filled and we had allergies to down filling. We went to the front desk to request an alernative pillow. The manager was called and we were told that there were no alternatives. No other options were given, nothing was offered as a solution. We were somewhat shocked and finally decided to take it upon oursleves to go buy pillows (in lieu of sleeping without pillows!). After thinking on it a bit, we asked the manager if the Hampton Inn would reimburse us for the pillows by taking the amount of off our room charge. We were told that they would be happy to do that. However, we were in a rush on check-out day and did not check the bill until we returned home. I received a survey regarding our stay , in which I explained the story. I received a prompt response from the hotel manager stating they were sorry and would hope we would give them another chance to show "who Hampton Inn really is"....but yet, he did not offer to reimburse us for the pillows nor any other incentive. As we are Hilton Honors members and therefore spend most nights in hotels in a Hilton brand (we were in Pittsburgh for a wedding) - I would've thought that there would've been something more. Just that extra mile of service.

Very disappointed in the lack of problem solving. I'm certain we are not the only ones with allergies to down pillows. I would've thought they could've 1) had an alternative upon request or 2) offered to go get the pillows or, in hindsight 3) said "oops, we forgot to reimburse them for their pillows....let's make it right".

The hotel was clean. The cleaning staff cheerful and helpful. Breakfast was great every morning and my room was as nice as many of the Doubletrees I've stayed at (*actually nicer than the downtown Cleveland Doubletree). I'll just remember to bring a pillow (tough to do on an airplane) next time or plan to buy one.......

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your candid review of our property. While we appreciate the accolades in regards to our associates, breakfast offering, and overall hotel cleanliness, we must sincerely apologize for your dissatisfaction in regards your to perception of our follow-up. We take great pride in the service we provide to each one of our guests and I spoke in great detail to the associates on duty that evening. Upon investigation, we do have a receipt on file for reimbursement for 2 hypo-allergenic pillows paid out to one of our guests in cash. If you could please check your records for this as I am sure in the rush of travel this might have been overlooked. In the event that it was not, I would be more than to discuss this in detail with you. Please feel free to contact me directly.

Thank you.

“Smaller than normal rooms and bad parking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

This was a standard Hampton Inn. It is what you would expect. However, the room felt smaller than a normal Hampton Inn. The furniture and bedding were in good shape. Just felt cramped. Bathroom was small as well.

The biggest complaint is parking. I'm not sure, but I think the parking lot is an off airport parking lot. It is located on the backside of the hotel (if you arrive late you have to walk all the way around the property to get to the front door, it is a walk). The lot was packed when I arrived and there were cars parked on sidewalks, shoulders, curbs, etc. I had to cruise the parking lot for some time before I found a space.

Also, the hotel is located rather far from the airport. In fact, it is far side of the airport entrance. As a result, it is quite a drive to get to the airport even though from the hotel you can see the runways (approx 15 minute freeway drive).

Dear Valued Guest,

Our apologies to you that you were not comfortable with the size of your guest room. We do have several room type options available and you may find that you are more comfortable in one of our King Study rooms that have more square footage in addition to a pull out sleeper sofa.

Our apologies to you as well for the issues you experienced with our parking. Please know that in addition to our rear lots, we have several spaces to the side of the property with a separate entrance for your convenience. We are currently working with the design and layout of our rear parking lot to better suit our guests needs. Also know that although we are less than a 10 minute drive from the Pittsburgh International Airport, we do provide a complimentary 24 hour shuttle service both to and from the airport in the event that you would like to utilize in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review and we look forward to having you as our guest in the near future!

All the best to you!
