If you are a student or just need to get away from it all, then this is your place. Make sure you tell them at check in you need to be away from it all. Unfortunately, there is residual from the recent Irene hit but for the most part, the staff is getting under control.
The front desk staff and maintenance staff are very friendly and courteous. They really want to you be comfortable. Their explanations sufficed for me.
If you need to use the Internet, it is located in an open area in the lobby. May be a definite downfall.
The furnishings are dated but for the price, the location to the major highways, shopping and airport are all to be considered.

Annual family Black Friday shopping trip and by far the worst hotel. 9 family members, 3 rooms for 2 nights. As soon as we entered lobby, we knew it was not going to be a good experience. I, personally, have stayed in at least 15 Best Westerns in the last 2 1/2 years and have never been more disappointed! Although we had booked together we were on 3 different floors. When we arrived at our room it was the last on the floor before the buckets lined the hallway to catch the leaks... should have been a clue! The musty odor in the room was almost unbearable. Mold was literaly all over the front of the night stand and the dresser.
Because we had booked through Orbitz and checked in late we spent at least an hour trying to cancel for the next night and then made a quick trip to the local walmart to purchase sheets and pillows because of the stains on the bedding.

The only good thing I can stay is the desk staff was very nice and tried to help.

We ended up changing hotels to the Best Western at the Union Deposit Exit and they were wonderful!!!! Rooms were immaculate, staff friendly and facillity was very pleasant!! Thankfully to that Best Western I will try them again.

I have spent many nights over the last 10 years at this hotel, the last time was 12 months ago. It has always been clean in the past and the staff helpful. I checked in last night and this will be my last stay at the Best Western in Middletown. My room and whole floor smells of smoke, the floor in the room had not been cleaned from the last person's stay. The water in the tub would not drain (took 20 mins after my shower). The a/c blower motor is so loud i cannot turn it on for fear of disturbing other guests.

And the cherry on top was this morning at breakfast, the juice machine and counter top were covered in small ants.

This last week was the second time we stayed at the BW, Middletown as an overnight stay begore boarding a flight out. Once again we were quite satisfied. The hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable, with modern rooms and conveniences, though the tv seemed needed a replacement soon, but who really cares about tv these days.
Add to the overall satisfaction level was the fact that we arrived in an late-fall snowstorm of 6+ inches, to find the grounds crew already scraping and salting the walkways. The power wwent off twice during sign-in but not a problem for anyone to get anxious about, as things went on smoothly. Highly recommended to anyone using the airport as a connecion point or for any other reason.
