Came here for a retreat with my wife of 10 years and wanted to see Longwood Gardens at Christmastime. While checking in, we met David, who was a very likable guy who knew the area well. He routed us to Half Moon Saloon in the next town over and then to a great place in West Chester called Iron Hill Brewpub. We also liked that David told us to check out Lancaster, as my wife is really into quilting. He mentioned Bird in Hand, which turned out to be a Godsend, as my wife walked away with 3 quilts. We did enjoy the restaurant at the hotel, but we wished it could have been better than advertised. Must highly recommend this place, and the staff is very friendly and professional. The train coming by a few times was a nice little touch, as was the church right across the street from the hotel. This hotel is a total great find and David was truly what made the trip worthwhile and made this a destination for my wife and I.
You have to ask for a room on the parking lot side...it has a great view of the trees in the back.
