My family and I have stayed here twice and I would recommend this place to travelers staying in the area. We stayed both in the summer when it was crowded and just got back from a winter camping trip in our Class A motor-home. Although the cold weather stopped us from enjoying a campfire one especially cold night, I prefer staying here in the winter. We chose site 111 this time in front of the playground so our 2 kids could play while we cooked and tended the campfire and it was a wonderful time. The farm across the stream just makes this place perfect for the trip, it’s especially beautiful in the morning when the sun hits the buildings and sets everything up perfectly reminding you you’re in Amish country.
The campground is perfectly located on Lincoln Highway and you can see some of Dutch Wonderland’s rides in the campground. When we stayed here in the summer we heard people at the park but it was never a bother to us. It’s in perfect distance to all the main Lancaster area attractions and the ones off the beaten path that you find only driving through the countryside. Our only gripe last summer was the dog owner’s staying in the park had a habit of not picking up after their dog’s and people tended to walk in between the sites barging in on you instead of walking around on the road, which is no fault of the campground’s owners’.
Just book it, the view of the farm and the proximity to all the local attractions is worth the money.
