“Sufficient for our purpose”

To me, what is important in a hotel is that the room is clean and quiet, the bed is ok and that the shower works. Anything more is nice but not absolutely necessary.
I don't care about outdated fixtures or how many channels the TV has. The wireless works well.
The lobby sits ok but the ice machine and the vending machine are competing for the loudest noise. WHY do they need to be in the lobby?

“Cut my stay short”

I love staying at Marriott properties but was truly disappointed in Fairfield Inn. This hotel needs to be renovated and updated quickly as it does not have a "Marriott" feel. From the one tiny elevator to the stained towels to the front desk asking me to come downstairs for more towels (when I called to request extra) was unacceptable. I will never stay at this hotel again.

“Wrong hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011 via mobile

Booked it for one night as options were limited. Did not reasearch it because I was convinced we'd stayed there a couple of years ago. Pulled into the lot to realize I'd stayed at the homestyle suites next door. Sorry to say it was not what I was hoping for. Hotel was ok but everything including the elavator was very small. Lobby had the feel of a prision setup. Breakfast was small and chaotic as a youth soccer tournament was in the area. I would find a room elsewhere next time.

“Just ok.”

Hotel needs updates. nothing wrong but nothing was great. Breakfast needs help. Little choice. Room is clean and staff is polite. Furniture and fixtures in need of updating. TV is old. Walls are thin. Price is average. Would stay again but would switch to another hotel in a second.

“A Fairfield Inn Should Be Better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

First of all, I'll share that this hotel is scheduled to be renovated in November 2011, according to the staff. I would say they waited one year too long to do this renovation.

The general condition is headed toward the shabby side and it feels like it has affected everything else. The room had a 25" tube television and the carpet was kind of sad. The internet had continual problems throughout our three day stay. The one computer in the lobby was in the middle of everything, giving absolutely no privacy. It also didn't work at all one of the days I was there. The room was pretty clean but right on the edge of not being good enough. I admit that my cleanliness evaluation might have been tainted by the general shabbiness of the hotel.

The breakfast was the saddest of all the breakfasts I've had at a Fairfield Inn anywhere. Not much selection and the woman stopped stocking half an hour before the end of breakfast. She actually turned off one of the two waffle makers five minutes before the end of breakfast when several people were in line to use it. I'm not sure what was going on, but the woman was certainly not customer-centric.

I probably would have been willing to stay here if they were charging the kind of price that a rather tired out motel might charge.

My recommendation would be to wait until the renovation is complete to stay at this property. On second thought, my confidence in the renovation fixing all the shortcomings might be overstated.
