“If you're not picky about a renovated room...clean but UGH!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Straight out of the 1970s, and not in a good way. Maybe great for a guys' ski weekend, but old furniture, carpeting, bedding, lighting...clean, but not nearly nice enough for a family with young children. Major problem: no security at the condos...open access to the lobby/rooms, and we arrived after dark. If it were Grandma's, you'd stay, but otherwise, yuck. We didn't even take off our coats; checked out immediately. Had dinner there and discussed things...the food was heavy, watery, stale...you name it. Service was helpful and kind, and they did try to accommodate us, but even the upgraded room smelled like someone had tried to mask the odor of previous cigarette smokers. It felt very isolated and old. We did not try the water park; it looked like fun, though. We actually tried to get a room at Great Wolf after leaving, but they were booked. We headed back home (3 hr. drive) on Christmas night, and spent the week home, all for the best.

Room Tip: Clean-ish, but everything seemed taken from the late 1970s, and not in a good way. Beds you'd o...

Thank you for your review about Split Rock Resort. We do offer 24 hour security that travels around the entire resort so they would not be stationary within one building. We apologize that you did not feel you would be comfortable in the room you reserved. We have discussed your concerns with our Housekeeping Manager and steps have been taken to correct the room issues. We hope that you would give Split Rock another opportunity to show you a great family stay.

“had my honeymoon here and LOVED IT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

we went in november. it was nice and quiet. it is so pretty here at this time. we saw deer every single day. can't wait to go back! the only this that isn't cool is the road toll. we loved the fact that it was it's own little community and there were restaurants right there. If you don't ever want to leave the resort you wouldn't have to. but we suggest you do because PA has some great places to go. I mean you can not go wrong here. bowling? movies? pizza? and a water park all right in one area. couldn't ask for more. I mean not everything was open because we went off season but there was so much still to do. We had a one bedroom at willowbrook and couldn't have picked a better area.

“Willowbrook @ Splitrock Resort... It's o.k.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

My wife and I stayed here for a week. We stayed in a suite in building 2. I've got some pros and cons for you.

PROS---
- Big living area. Enough for four adults.
- Bathroom was very spacious
- Heating was great in the living rom and bedroom
- The resort is very close to outdoor activities such as skiing/snowboarding and tubing. Jack Frost and Big Boulder are right outside the Splitrock resort. Ask the front desk for directions.
- Grocery store about 2 miles down the road. Everything you need food-wise was there. Think it was called AHAR-market.
CONS---
- Poor service at the Galleria for breakfast. The server brought us dirty utensils to start off. Then she brought us coffe that was not even hot. It was room temp. It was a breakfast buffet. The food was terrible. I will never eat there again. Good thing we had a kitchen!!!
- Furniture was really outdated. Looked like some 50-60's furniture.
- The walls were extremely thin. We could hear the noisy neighbors up with their kids screaming and yelling at 0630 in the morning. You can also hear people down the hall slamming thier doors.
- Bed sheets were not clean. First impression was bad. When we first walked in, i checked the bed sheets. Top cover had blood stains. Pillow cases had long hairs on them. I was really upset. Could they have not taken the time to put clean linens in the room? Luckily we brought our own sheets and blankets..LOL
- Beds were hard, but it was somewhere to sleep.
- Bath towels and wash rags were really old and thin. Luckily we brought our own towels.
- It's 2012 and they still have tube T.V's in the living room and bedroom. I was really surprised about that.
- If you want to wash clothes, bring detergent and lots of change. You have to pay to use the washer and dryer.( $1 each) There wasn't a change machine in the laundry room. I had to drive up to the Galleria and make change.
- Kitchen utensils very old and cheap.
- Refridgerator was really small. Good thing we brought a cooler with lots of ice..

Overall our stay was o.k. I was expecting more for some reason. Definetely would not stay there for a week. Maybe 2-3 days max..

Room Tip: Pick a corner room if possible on the first floor. They are quieter and closer to the laundry rooms...

“Great Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My husband and I stayed a couple of weeks ago. We stayed in the Willowbrook. The room had a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub, nice and cozy for our weekend away. There was a full kitchen and we even had a balcony and myy husband called me out onto the balcony so I could see the deer wandering around. The room was clean and comfortable.
We ate at Bellago, the italian restaurant, and had a very relaxing dinner. The food was one of the better meals that we have had during our stay in the area.
We went to the arcade area and saw the bowling lanes and decided to play a game. Although there were alot of people we didn't have to wait long.
The only issue we had was when purchasing ski tickets but it was taken care of very quickly by the manager.
We are looking forward to our return trip and trying out the cosmic bowling.

“One Stop Shop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

SPlit Rock Resort is great especially if you're stating at the Galleria which has all the attractions you need without having to ever leave. There is an indoor waterpark the kids and we loved, an indoor pool with hot tub, gift shop, a bowling alley, an arcade, a bar, a sit down restaurant as well as a quick service place, a basketball court, racketball court, live entertainment, and a spa( I think that was it). Within 10minutes is Jack Frost and Big Boulder for skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing, as well as other restaurants and bars.

Room Tip: Stay in the Galleria!
