My wife and I were on the road and decided to stop for the night. We looked up this Super 8 on the internet and then checked on TripAdvisor. After reading the reviews, we figured that the place had been renovated and decided to take a chance. We placed a reservation about an hour before arriving.
Upon arriving, we found the parking lot was poorly lit. We went in to register and saw that the hotel had a TripAdvisor decal on the window. After check-in and getting the internet password, we went to the room. Not only did the wireless internet not work, the evening person at the hotel was rude when I called for help. Of course, she blamed the computers that my wife and I each have (our computers had no problem at the other 4 hotels on the trip). Also during the call for internet help, the evening clerk then harassed me about 2 people being in the room (I made a reservation for 2 people). She stated "You lied to me!" and started harassing me about paying a higher rate. She finally realized that she had me confused with another room, but she did not apologize. Had it not been so late, we would have left over the rudeness at that time.
We stayed to discover: 1. Cobwebs in the room. 2. Substantial mold in the shower. 3. A toilet that didn't flush properly. 4. Very thin ceiling between us and the second floor (which I also saw from the missing ceiling tile in the hall ceiling) that forced us to endure noise all night. 5. The water in the shower was not clear as water should be. 6. The air conditioning unit had a massive dust bunny in it and had some liquid spilled on the vents. 7. Filthy microwave. 8. The ice machine was 4 feet from our door - very noisy. 9. The washer and dryer was 7 feet from our door. 10. The parking lot is poorly lit and would be an easy target for thieves. If you have the misfortune to stay here, remove everything out of your car. 11. Stale pastries at the breakfast offering.
While I am angry at the treatment that I received, I really do wish to help other avoid staying at this overpriced, dirty hotel that has rude staff. Please trust my horrible experience at this hotel to steer you from staying here. We paid about $75 for this terrible room (which is high for a Super 8). The staff at this hotel are simply interested in squeezing as much profit from this hotel with minimal to no service. AVOID!!!
