Friendly staff. Eventually we got a clean and comfortable room. Great location if you are visiting Longwood Gardens or Kennett Square (Mushroom Capitol of the World). I enjoy finding and rating a place a 5 but just cannot do it for this HGI. We were initially, knowingly put into Room 337 which occassionally shakes. We are talking a 4 on the Richter scale. Items in that room were shaking and vibrating when it happened. You could feel it to your core. We were told it has been looked into and may have something to with the hotel dryers. Happily we were immediately relocated. Other than the initial room snafu it is a pretty good HGI.

A friend and I decided to stay here as we visited the nearby Brandywine Valley winery trail. It's location is the halfway point between NYC and Washington DC. The hotel was great. It was very convenient to the local attractions and plenty of parking. The lobby is wonderful and very welcoming - it's currently decorated for Christmas and it was comfortable to sit by the lobby fireplace. The rooms were nice and clean - I really liked that there was a microwave and fridge in the room. Applebees restaurant is across the parking lot - so a short walk for lunch or drinks (and that's who does their room service!) The all-american breakfast buffet ($9.95) was generous and delicious - the serving area was clean and they even had wait service. I highly recommend this hotel and plan on staying here again for future visits.

We stayed here one night- The room is a very nice size, clean and well appointed including bed that can be dialed for firmness. The staff is the most helpful I have seen in a hotel in a very long time. Someone even came up to the room cause we were unsure how to set the heat. (they need better instrucions in the room). I am not sure about the value. NOTE the phone number on the trip advisor leads to HOTEL.COM not the hotel- therefor we paid a additional $5 more than contacting the hotel- Wonder if this is how trip advisor makes money???

We stopped to see the fall display at Longwood Gardens on our way home from the Poconoes. We decided to spend the night and chose HGI because of location. Our experience was excellent -- the reception staff was very friendly -- room large and clean -- internet fast -- and the breakfast one of the best hotel lobby meals we ever had. The experience was so good that instead of a day trip next week for the Longwood Christmas display we have booked a room. Hilton offered a very good discount for December but this HGI either didn't participate or I was too late in booking to get one of the rooms available for the offer. The only down side was being located in the middle of a retail area but being so close to the Gardens made up for it.
