I sure wish I would have read some of these reviews before I had booked at this b&b. A few of them sound like our exact experience, and I am not a snob. My boyfriend and I both called about reserving the room in advance and were quoted a price $15 cheaper than what she charged my credit card. All we did was ask about the price when we checked in and, for a tiny old lady, became very rude. She never offered an apology and had a very apparent attitude. She must have been confused about a lot of things when I called to make the initial reservation, because she also got my last name and arrival time wrong, on top of the price she lied to both of us about. We should have left and stayed somewhere off the highway right then. Every local we talked to in town had something bad to say about her. We dreaded any contact with her and avoided her during our stay. At another point during our stay, she gave us the third degree for stepping out to shop without telling her first. It makes you feel like you are a 13-year-old trapped at your mean grandma's house for the weekend.
She is presumably too old to clean, so whoever she hires to keep up does a very poor job. I found dead bugs in every corner and lubricant under the bed in the suite. Yes, lubricant. It looked like it had been there for a very, very long time. I just left it there, so my guess is that it is still there. Otherwise, the toilet and shower were a pain and the TV was so old it didn't even have a working remote. Not much of a suite. The only thing this place has going for it is a good location. This woman is too old and rude to manage a business.
