The only people we interacted with at the motel were the reception staff and housekeeping. Both seemed accommodating and willing to help.
We apparently had one of the "Executive" rooms and they are actually quite large (including the bathroom). The room floor was all tiled, which didn't bother us but it might be a downside for those who prefer a carpeted floor. While the decor may be a bit old (90s style) all the furniture and fittings are in generally good condition and the room was clean. The bed was a bit hard but I still managed to get a good night's sleep.
The bathoom was spacious and came with a large shower, bathtub and sink. A major downside of the bathroom was that it came with unlockable French doors which isn't so good if you're used to locking the bathroom door.
Forresters Beach Resort is situated in the coastal suburb of Forresters Beach which lies between The Entrance and Gosford on the NSW Central Coast. Besides the beach being nearby, there's probably not much reason to stay here (unless you're attending a wedding reception up the road at Manon's House). Within walking distance is a small cafe and bottle shop but you'll most likely need a car to get anywhere else (including the nearby shopping centre at Bateau Bay or Tigers NRL Club).
In terms of amenities, the motel comes with a swimming pool, restaurant and offers Internet access for a fee.
What I liked best about the motel is that it had spacious and clean rooms, and that it was also close to the wedding reception venue, Manon's House.
What I disliked was the cost. It cost us $170 per night to stay at a 3.5 star motel and we booked early. Others who booked later for the same night got varying prices of $130 and $160 for the same type of room. The discrepancy in prices seemed unfair to us considering we actually booked early and were told there were no cheaper rooms (when clearly there was).
