It is with some reluctance that we post a review of this place - only because we are afraid that if the word gets out it may become spoilt. The park was everything we hoped it might be - old school Australia by the sea. The park is spotless and has really good facilities. It's run by the local council. It offers a variety of lodgings from tent pitches to 'Outrigger Villas' which have 2 beds, full kitchen and air-con. We had one of these for five nights and it was great. Really well kitted out and surrounded by tropical planting etc.. There are plenty of nearby restaurants in Shoal Bay and in Nelson Bay. It is incredibly good value. The beach over the road from the camp is lovely. And a short walk down the road takes you to the Tomaree National Park - well worth the stroll.
