“Great place to stay for everyone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 April 2010

We camped over the easter school holidays 2010 which is always a busy time. I found this place on the interent as it has 4 other parks under its banner. The 3 other parks were fully booked so I was suprised when we could get 2 camp sites next to each other. We camped with 4 adults and 6 children ranging from 7-12 years.

The park really was great, it had easy access for the kids to go to the beach and a short walk to the local shops for holiday treats. The bathrooms were well kept and clean which in a holiday park is always welcoming. The games room and the 1/2 tennis court seemed to become a social gathering point for kids of the same age group and laugher was alway heard when you walked passed.

The park is close to the waveless beach which was really lovely and put our minds at ease when the kids said they were off to the beach all could swim of course.

I think the cabins were nice but can not give you much feedback on those. Also they had the safari tents which are tents on a deck with a bathroom, so if you want to try camping this is a nice introduction to sleeping under canvas.

We all had lots fun, with no complaints and the usual ending that no body wanted to go home. Making this a great holiday.

“Well worth the money, and more than happy with the amenities”

I was a bit hesitant on first sight of the cabin, but for what I paid for the 7 nights, I was more than impressed with the accommodation. I am fussy with cleaning and think that it could have been a bit better, and it is a bit out-dated, but for the price, outdated didn't matter, The whole park is lovely, and convenient to the lovely beach and the restaurants. The staff are more than lovely and helpful. I Didn't think much of Aussie Bob's for food, I wouldn't recommend them.

“Like camping, but without all the hard bits”

Stayed in a Safari Tent, and we had a great time.

The tents were big, a bit like what Scouts or the Army uses. The queen bed was comfortable enough - much better than if you were really camping. Bathroom was very cool - a bit like showering out doors. The shower was really hot, and nice not to have to walk over to the amenities block. Another surprise was that there were no insects around - the caravan park must be vigilant with pest control.

We stayed here for three nights with our 8 month old child. I was a little nervous that this style of get away wouldn't work, but it did. There was room in the tent for our portable cot, and she slept well - through all the noise of the wind and with us sharing the room.

Some down sides. There's only one BBQ plate between the six tents. If it was a busy part of the year there could be some waiting to cook dinner. Also, the Safari Tents were a fair way away from the central amenities block and the camp kitchen. Not too much of a pain, but a bit of a walk if you wanted to use the microwave or get boiled water.

“Great value option”

Stayed in an outrigger cabin for 3 nights, just my wife and I.

Cabin was modern and well equipped, good kitchen, furniture.
Queen (?) bed in main bedroom was very very soft, our only complaint. Prob wouldn't bother many people. Second room had 2 single beds we didn't use. Fine bathroom.
Cabin was across the road from the beautiful calm beach (there is no pool, why would you need one?), and is just up the road from shoal bay resort and its good eating out options.

Don't eat at the italian pizza restaurant up the road, our pizza was totally burnt, and had tinned pre chopped olives. dominoes honestly would be better tasting and much cheaper.

Had a great relaxing stay, value would be even better with children.

“Old fashioned but clean caravan park”

We stayed in a Jacaranda cabin, which had a double bed up one end of the cabin screened off by curtin from the kitchen area and a triple bunk bed in a separate room at the other end through to a shower/toilet. The cabin was a bit bigger than I expected.

The park is fairly old but was clean and seemed reasonably well maintained. The cabins are fairly sparsely furnished with plates etc, but there are enough for a family of 5. Linen was all supplied and there was a small cooktop and microwave for cooking. The person who talked about the large pool was obviously at a different park or were talking about the beach, because there was no pool, which was the biggest drawback. The beach is however directly across the road (with a zebra crossing) and is calm water, so is like swimming in a pool. There are some beautiful surf beaches about 10-15 minutes drive away.

Quite a nice spot but my 5 to 9 year old kids found the playground a bit too 'young' and there was no pool.
