We chose to stay at Avlon Gardens after finding an online last minute deal, so the room was booked without viewing. Pattie served us at check-in and was very happy to answer all our questions. Her knowledge of the greater Ballina area is very good. The rooms was very modern, very clean and with more services than we were expecting (eg. substantial kitchenette). Although its not on the highway (better in my opinion) it's located approx 3min drive from the main street for dining and entertainment. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

“Great size rooms”
Stayed in the Avlon Motel on our trip down the east coast. Its a small family run Motel that is friendly and surprisingly spaceous.
The rooms are getting a bit tired but for the cost there are no complaints. Its clean and the broadband internet is cheap and superfast.
We didn't use the pool and really only slept and left so can't really comment more other than we would not hesitate to stop here again should we need Ballina accomodation.

Looking for an overnight stay on our trip to Brisbane, we found the Avlon Gardens just off the highway and with a bonus of no all-night rumble of trucks.
Our room was a good size, clean and modern. The garden and pool gave the kids a chance to burn off some energy and left us alone.
We had dinner in our room rather than getting back in the car again as the owners, Patti and Wayne, previously ran a restaurant . We were not disappointed- good food delivered by the person that cooked it.
We'll be back!
