“Great family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011 via mobile

My wife and I stayed in Red Deer in September, with our 2 year old and 5 month old children.
The cottage was stunning and well
stocked with all the essentials, including complimentary eggs, bread, bacon, sausages and cream tea.
The on site facilities are fantastic, the indoor swimming pool and tumble room ensured our son was always entertained.
Poltarrow is a great base for exploring SE Cornwall. Gorran Haven beach is a must visit if the sun is shining.
Overall, an outstanding place for families with young, energy filled, children.

We were lucky enough to book Roebuck cottage at the last minute for a holiday with our one year old and dog. The welcome pack of scones, bacon, sausages, eggs and bread was very welcome. We were left in peace after this, which suits us beautifully.
The cottage was far cleaner than our home could ever hope to be! There were superb information packs put together for nearby restaurants and beaches. By the way, Rosevine beach is beautiful and dog friendly. Most of the time we had the pool, sports hall and tumble room to ourselves and were never short of things to do in poor weather.
We had a great time, our toddler most of all and I felt moved to write my first tripadvisor review! Hope to return there.

Last visited Poltarrow 8 years ago and good to see its still as wonderful as ever..........superb accommodation with plenty of facilities to cater for all ages......swimming pool, fishing, walking, play areas etc.
Judith always there for advice on days out so you will never struggle to find things to do, a fantastic location and base to view the areas of Cornwall.
Close to the Eden project, Flambards, the Dairy Farm,Truro,Polperro.............. and plenty of coves and beaches when the sun shines for the beach lover.
Accommodation to the highest standards even a cream team on arrival with bacon, sausages and eggs left for breakfast.
Need I say anymore!

“Excellent Holiday - everything we wanted and more”

We have just completed a week's stay at four of the six cottages at Poltarrow. This was a family celebration and there were 16 of us aged from 3 to 80. The cottages are excellent: all of them are well appointed with every mod con and device you could possibly need. The eggs, bacon, bread and sausages left in each cottage are a nice touch. We were also given more than enough tea and coffee for the holiday with milk to get started. Toilettries and cleaning materials also plentiful. Judith is very friendly and provided us with a home cooked meal on our last night with a surprise cake for the birthday boy that we weren't expecting. The facilities on site including the swimming pool and sports hall are well appointed and all the equipment was in good working order. There was plenty for little ones (soft play room)and energetic teenagers (Pool table and Badminton)to do on the farm in the evenings and in case of rain. The internet was very useful for those of us that needed to keep in touch with work!! The area around this farm is beautiful with lots to do and see - Eden Project, wonderful beaches (Polkerris Bay) and enchanting villages (Fowey). To much to do in one week and we hope to be back very soon.

“Excellent B&B, we'll definitely go again!”

We found Poltarrow Farm to be an excellent B&B. As other reviewers have commented, it is very luxurious for a B&B. Judith was very helpful with suggestions for places to visit (contrary to one of the reviewers below) and the cooked breakfast was amazing (we also loved the aga toast!!). The wifi was a welcome feature, as was the swimming pool and sports hall. We are definitely thinking of returning either to the B&B or the very inviting cottages. Our only thought for future improvements would be to have a larger tv screen in the bedrooms (there was a communal lounge downstairs with a bigger tv but unfortunately this was in-use each evening by the people in the next room). All in all we had an excellent 2 night stay and would have stayed on longer had they not been fully booked!! Speaks for itself!!
