“Fabulous B&B with divine host and hostess”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

I recently had the delight of staying at Trussel Barn for 2 nights whilst working in the local area. Jo came out to welcome me when I arrived and she and Mike couldn't have been better hosts if they had tried. There really was nothing to fault. The room was large and comfortable with some of the best bedding I've ever had in a hotel never mind B&B. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. I would thoroughly recommend Trussel Barn and am looking forward to my return trip in a couple of weeks

“Wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2011

We recently returned from a 3 night break at Trussel Barn. We stayed in the Garden Room, which was spacious and airy and had an excellent en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. The bedroom had lots of storage space, huge bed and every comfort provided. Jo and Mike were excellent hosts and go to lots of trouble to ensure that their guests are comfortable. Our weather was changeable and every evening when we returned to Turssel Barn we were asked if we would like a fire lit in the long burning stove. It was so nice to have a lovely lounge to relax in at the end of busy days, as we hae stayed at many B & B's with no such facility. An added bonus to is the garden seating area which is also available to guests. The gardens and view are wonderful and, again, it was nice to have garden furniture and a nice area to sit out in had the weather been better and had we not been out most of the day travelling around the area. This facility is something which, again, we have not always found to be available at other B & B's. Jo's breakfasts are exceptional, with everything freshly and local where possible. Her home made bread is the best we have tasted! Jo was so helpful with any queries we had on places to visit and nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had such a lovely stay. We hope to return - this B & B could not be faulted!

“Another magnificent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2011

After staying here in June 2010 (see review below) we returned back to Trussel Barn to a warm welcome from Mike & Jo. We rarely return to a hotel or B&B once we have already been, as we tend to move on to explore a new area, however, I always knew that this place would pull me back very soon.

We stayed for 3 nights in the Garden Room and as per usual, had a lovely and tranquil stay. My previous review still stands. The one thing we did notice was how lovely the gardens are maturing. It is a good excuse to return just to see the progress in the garden. The view from our room over the gardens was such a pleasure to see. The super king size bed and luxurious bedding is a real treat and provides a good night's rest. The Garden room has a lovely spacious bathroom.

Jo cooks one of the nicest breakfasts we have had. The breakfast consists of cereal, fresh fruit, full English breakfast, local honey, jams etc and Jo's lovely homemade bread. It is enough to set you up for the day.

There is excellent Wifi in every room, which is always useful for arranging your days out.

Thank you very much Jo & Mike for your hospitality, we will be back again very soon.

“Magnificent B&B. Jo and Mike were wonderful hosts.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2010

Stayed at Trussel Barn for three nights in September 2010. Facilities were excellent and our group fo four could have asked for nothing more. Jo and Mike were wonderful hosts, and were very knowledgable about the areas we wished to visit. Jo provided us with a beautiful english breakfast each morning before we set off. Our rooms were spacious and clean, and very well appointed. The B&B was set in a rural area with lovely outlooks from our rooms. Trussel Barn was an excellent location for the start of our holidays in the UK and France.

“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2010

We have just returned from a long weekend at The Buttery and had a truly wonderful time. The accommodation was perfect for our needs; with it's own private entrance, well equipped kitchen, great big comfortable bed, flat screen TV and sofa; The Buttery was everything that we hoped it would be. Set in a perfect location with beautiful scenery, both Jo and Mike were very accommodating and friendly but without being at all intrusive. We definitely plan to return and would have no hesitation in recommending a stay there.
