Stayed at this little gem last week, staff were very polite and helpful in checking me in early which was very kind! booked a 4 poster bedroom which was lovely (little bit cold!) nice bathroom, all very clean and comfortable! breakfast was really good, everything you could want, hot and freshly made to order. The bar had a large open fire burning which gave it a homely warm feel. would stay here again for sure!

We booked our one night stay as a last minute trip and we were not disappointed. While we don't live too far away it still felt like a break! On arrival we were upgraded free of charge to a four poster room which had wifi. The staff were friendly especially the reception staff. My only complaint is that the food was expensive so we ate elsewhere but the breakfast was good, lots of variety and fresh. We would definitely go back!

Visited Jamaica Inn on Saturday afternoon. The interior was reasonably attractive and the staff were quite friendly, so we were hopeful. Until the food arrived. Jacket potatoes, coronation chicken & salad. Difficult to get wrong. It was awful. The potatoes were not hot enough, one of them was partly black, the chicken was very cold, obviously straight out of a very cold fridge, and tasted like cat food (I imagine!). The salad was thrown on the side of the plate in great chunks, just cucumber, lettuce and tomato, no onion in it, no attempt to chop or arrange it attractively. Awful. £6.25 each for that. We sent it back, mostly uneaten, and will not be returning. Daphne du Maurier would not be happy, and neither was I.

Stopped here now for the second time whilst out walking, we had a drink in very pleasant surroundings. The staff are friendly and welcoming (especially child friendly) and the roaring fire in the bar is just the topping on the cake after a a chilly walk on the moor.
