Stayed here in February to visit our daughter in Twickenham. The hotel is nicely placed overlooking gardens and the river Thames across the street and has plenty of convenient parking. Its a short walk to Strawberry Hill train station for the trip into London. Twickenham station has more trains and is only 15 minutes walk. The 33 bus to Richmond stops outside. Alexander Pope (poet) lived close by and built a subterranean passage (grotto) to cross to his garden by the river to avoid the traffic . The road is still busy but go for a streetside window if you want a river view - its not too noisy. Great for riverside walks though and pretty old town.
Outside temperature was low (-5deg C)when we stayed and the room stayed chilly. We borrowed a supplementary heater but it was borrowed back whilst we were out so perhaps others found their rooms cold too. Room was quite pricey (the hotel being, i guess, popular for travelling rugby fans). Woken early (for us) at 8.30am every day for room make up. Not such good value.
Meals are taken in a pleasant conservatory at the front of the hotel. But the restaurant furniture is ramshackle - apparently refurbished from a second hand furniture emporioum. Make sure your seat is an appropriate height for the table!
Overall not good value
