Our family (two adults, two girls) stayed for a Saturday night in early January and had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. We had to have our swim on Sunday mornng because there is a hotel policy not to allow children to swim in the evening (the deadline could be 7pm or 8pm I can't quite remember, but check if this is important to you.) Also, children are not permitted to use the sauna, steam room or jacuzzi and a sign points out that this is due to legislation (all I can say is try telling that to Center Parcs - but I was there for a break, not an argument, so let it pass).
Parking was no problem although there is a barrier, but tokens are readily available at reception.
Dinner on Saturday night was frankly below average quality but above average price - this is typical for Holiday Inn and it's just as well that kids-eat-free, but I wish we'd gone out to a pub instead. £55 for our meal was about £15 more than it should have been.
The pool was good and I'm told the gym was too (I tend not to darken the corridors of such places myself).
The room was adequately lit and furnished although I'm glad we were not intending to watch TV as it was a very small screen. Our bed was comfortable with the usual HI choice of pillows. The girls was OK for them - bit creaky though. A really nice touch that they appreciated was that toileteries and towels for them had been placed on their bed. The bathroom was OK and clean.
Wireless internet is provided but at an extortionate price - so take your own wireless modem for G3 unless your package includes internet. Same applies to phones.
I'll freely admit that we love buffet breakfasts so this should have been a real highlight. It was OK but is it too much to ask for fresh fruit to be fresh? tinned peaches and tinned grapefruit are not my cup of tea and the juice and coffee could have been sooo much nicer.
So there you have it, average all round really - better than a Travelodge, worse than a Marriott.
