Corridors smelt of Smoke
Room smelled of what I dont know but it was awful
matress lumpy
Not enough pillows
No non slip mats in bathroom which made it dangerous

No vist there again

I had booked for 3 nights due to the cheap rate...what a waste of money. The outside looked fine and the welcome was ok BUT once in the corridor to our room we were overwhelmed by the awful smell of damp and mould! We checked the room anyway but were HUGELY disappointed. It was shabby and the furniture was really knocked about, chipped and scuffed. I realise that Travelodge is a budget hotel chain but you used to have much higher standards. We couldn’t stay here and had to find a room at the nearby Holiday Inn. Sorry folks we wont be using Travelodge again.

ok for lads racing trip
at 10 pounds a room it was superb to get a room each
expectations were not very high so there was no disapointment
the room was clean and warm so that was the main things covered
what you see is what you get no problems

Me and my wife stayed here on an impromptu trip, and to be honest I was not expecting much, but even that could not prepare me for what we found.

Firstly we walked in to reception and there was an employee sweeping the door way, I assumed they were a cleaner, however they turned out to be the receptionist, but before they served us at reception they carried on sweeping the floor for another minute or so.

We got booked in (eventually) and headed to our room, the one thing that struck me on the way to our room was the overwhelming stench of damp.
We got in to the room and put out stuff down ready to head out for some food at the pub opposite, obviously we had a quick look around the room, and this is what we found:
The bathroom absolutely reeked of urine, and the towels were dirty.
The towel rail and toilet roll holder were very loose.
The room reeked of damp.
The room was absolutely freezing.
The reading lamps on the bed did not work.
One of the legs on the bed was broken, so if you made any sudden movements on the bed, it collapsed.
The paint on the skirting boards was peeling off.
There was used soap from the previous occupants in the bathroom.
The shower was temperamental and didn't know what temperature it wanted to be.

After we got back from the pub after a very VERY good meal at the pub opposite, we headed back to the room with the intentions of getting some sleep, however this did not happen. The first thing we noticed was the mattress was like a trampoline, the second thing we noticed was that we could hear EVERYTHING from the room above. Both of us got a very broken nights sleep.
If travelodge are trying to compete with Premier Inn then they need to make massive improvements because the place is a shambles.

To sum up, I have nothing positive to say. I would have rather have slept in the car, it smells nicer, is cleaner, is warmer, and more comfortable. I will NOT use a travelodge again.
