Reception was friendly and welcoming, room very dated and shabby and in need of decoration.

Stayed here for 2 nights in April 2011as we were visiting the Mill At Sonning Dinner
Theatre.Really enjoyed the stay.Nice room,good breakfast,good price as we obtained
a special deal because we booked theatre tickets.It's in a lovely spot overlooking the
River Thames.Would have no hesitation in stopping here again in the future.

The room we were assigned was massive and pleasantly decorated. It was spotlessly clean but lacked any character, which was a shame. Breakfast was very good and the evening meal was well presented and very tasty - couldn't fault it.. I can't see how the other reviews slated the food - our experience was excellent.

The bar area is like a doctors waiting room - so we went to the Bull which is just through the cemetery opposite and oozes atmosphere and character.

Saturday morning was woken up at 8 by the gardener strimming the bank to the side of the hotel, this continued for about 3 hours. I realise this has to be done, but really not on a Saturday or at 8 in the morning.

I probably would stay there again if the Bull was full as it was on this particular weekend.

A poor experience - anonymous room with furniture that appeared to have shrunk, so it no longer filled the space; two near empty pillows; blankets not duvets; early morning grass cutting outside the window; a maze challenge to find breakfast, badly tuned tv.

On my blacklist which is a pity as the Mill was great.
