The pub had a really freindly atmosphere with a great menu selection and good service.

We had a few hours to spare between the Christmas market at Highclere Castle and our dinner reservation so were driving around looking for a pub to have a quiet drink and shelter from the elements. We stumbled across The Swan Inn and were welcomed inside by Bernard and Andy. We sat next to the open log fire for the next few hours to thaw out with a drink and engaged in highly entertaining and enjoyable conversation with both of these kind, humourous and pleasant characters. It was a great shame we had to leave so soon and next time we are in the area we will most definitely book dinner and maybe a room at The Swan Inn.

I have had many dinners here over the years and one or two lunches and consider the food outstanding for a village pub not easily found. As well as English pub favourites It has now moved from Middle Eatern specialities to Italian food under different chefs but the high standard remains. The atmosphere is very calming and a good range of beers are on offer. It offers organic food which might be a particular attraction for some and boasts a number of awards. I have also spent one or two nights in the en-suite rooms upstairs which follow the same high standard. I fully recommend this place. I wish a similar standard pub was near my home which is some distance away.

I recently organised a staff Christmas Lunch here for over 30 people - Tomas the manager was very helpful and efficient in the pre-event arrangements and all the staff were very helpful, friendly and accomodating on the day. The food was traditional Xmas Fayre as was ordered and the quality of food for such a large party was very good.

This is a beautful pub in a wonderful location and I shall personally return some stage soon to taste the Organic Beef which comes higly recommended.

Well worth a vist.
