“Leave the hectic world behind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

My Husband bid (and won) an evening for 2 at The Waterside Inn in a Silent Auction to include dinner with wines chosen by the sommelier and an overnight stay. I am so glad he did!

On arrival we were greated by a friendly receptionist and shown straight away to our bedroom whilst the car was being parked for us outside of our room. Such a perfect room, overlooking the garden and wildlife on the Thames. The bed was kingsize and wonderfully comfortable with crisp linen sheets. It had 'his' and 'hers' bathrooms - a walk-in shower in one and a bathtub in the other. Fine toiletries were provided as were lovely fluffy towels, robes and slippers.

We drank our pre supper drinks in the charming gazebo by the river - so peaceful! The food was absolutely amazing as you would expect at a 3 Michelin Star Restaurant. The waiters were so attentive and jovial without being intrusive.

We had coffee and liquers back in the gazebo which now was made to look more romantic with flickering candles.

Yes it is expensive with A la carte menu approx £300 for two & rooms from £210 in the High Season but well worth it for that special occasion. Breakfast is continental breakfast only and is served in your room. I really didn't think of home once - leaving the hectic world behind!

Room Tip: The Deluxe Superior Double houses the 'his & hers ' bathrooms

“Phantastic hotel, food, service and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

My husband and I spent 2 nights in this phantastic and beautiful small hotel. The service is outstanding as is the food (the breakfast is only a small continental one (with phantstic croissants) served in one´s room). We had the room "La Tamise", in which you share a beautiful small terrace (with a nice view on the river Themse where we had our breakfast) with another room. ( La Tamise is one of the bigger rooms with a bigger bathroom). The food of Mr. Roux is outstanding , as is the service.
Bray is a small village, just 40 ,in from Heathrow, with lovely cottages and small houses.
Unfortunatly, we couldn´t take the motorboat from the hotel to take a ride on the Themse, which is supposed to be very nice, because it was pourring rain. But we had been offered to spent our time till we had to part for the airport in a small lovely decorated garden house, facing the river, where we received a somplementary glass of champagne and some deliciousl canapés. The rooms and the food are high priced - but worth it. We hopefully will come again. (the wifi is very slow and not working at its best)

I feel inspired to write a review for this gem of a B&B nestled in the picturesque town of Bray.
The attention to detail was amazing- e.g. Cold tap water is heated up to a very pleasant temperature. Gourmet walnuts for you to snack on. Free flow of bottled Water from the pantry. Non-cold bathroom floors.
The service was flawless.
The food was awesome- I'd come back for the breakfast alone. The pastries were a standout.

“Just Faultless in Every Way”

The Waterside Inn Bray has to be on everyone's to visit list. We stayed in Le Nid Jaune a lovely room with fresh fruit, water, home-made biscuits and chocolates when we arrived. We dined off the Menu Exceptionnel a delicious tasting menu with wine pairings. Nothing is too much trouble,I have a vegan dietary requirement and I was truly spoiled. The service is the finest I have experienced, professional and friendly by young people who obviously love their job. Alain Roux is a charming friendly guy, who has a chat with diners at the end of the evening. What I really admire is that they have not gone down the road of other chefs opening numerous establishments and cheapening the product. We have visited probably eight times over the years, Alain Roux has been in the kitchen and the experience is the same each time, faultless and whenever we leave we look forward to returning. Its expensive yes, but worth it, definitely.

“English Country Lodging and Dining at its Finest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2011

The Waterside Inn is in Bray on Thames, a classic quaint English country town. The town boasts an ancient pub and not one, but two Michelin Three Star restaurants, one of which is at the Waterside Inn. The restaurant at the Waterside Inn is absolutely world-class, but the Inn itself is so special that it would be worth a visit even without the restaurant. We were greeted by a doorman wearing a full uniform who took our car and our bags. We were taken to our suite which overlooked the Thames with its teeming waterfowl, including ducks, geese and swans. The definition of idyllic.

Very expensive, but worth maxing out your Visa card.
