My third trip to Indiana - this time to visit my freshman daughter. No more Holiday Inns in my future! A lovely stroll to her Honors College dorm, Heritage House was delightful. Great amenities (soft sheets, thick towels, free water, coffee and snacks), and all I needed for a comfy and delightful three days. The local history and architecture, friendly people and beautiful rolling hills make this a great place to visit, even without a child at IUP!

stayed here and as i was sitting on the wrap around porch one afternoon....you just can't get this at your national chain motel.....anyhow ...pro's & con's ....i felt the description of the library was mis-leading - more like a ladder to get to the bed, not steps and doesn't mention the lack of ceiling height if you sleep in that bed ----- but katie came to the rescue and switched us to another, more comfortable room, so kudos to her for knowing what cutomer service means .... made us feel comfortable, at home, welcome, even with the last-minute switch --- knowledgeable about things in town --- the sutton suite where we wound up staying was certainly roomy -- people who stay in these types of inns must be aware that compromises will need to be made due to the age and historical-ness of these homes, but they did not take away from the charm or beauty --- the only thing i would have liked would be the ability to open up a bedroom window if we didn't want to run the a/c --- otherwise like i said a fun place to bounce around and feel like millionaires from the turn of the century

I create and sale handcrafted jewelry. My brother and I rented the Thomas Sutton Suite to host a sale. There was plenty of space for shoppers to view the items I had on display, plenty of seating, and the interior of the house is amazing. Everyone who came to shop was in awe of the high ceilings and beautiful decor.

There's a full kitchen, so we were able to serve hot appetizers, deserts fresh from the oven, etc. The coffee maker was an added treat as well.

After a long evening of creating displays, playing host and hostess, and serving our guests, it was a blessing to be able to sleep in the beautifully decorated guest rooms.

We also enjoyed the complimentary snacks and the box of chocolates left for us.

Paula and Paula were very helpful.

We had such a great time that we are planning another sale later this year.

My sister and I were here to take care of some business.

It worked out perfectly. We had our own bedrooms and plenty of common areas to visit.

For what we would have spent for two rooms at one of the local "nice" chain hotels we were able to stay at a very special place. I would compare it to the size of a small home. For a "hotel type over night stay" it was comparable to spending the night in your own apartment, complete with Kitchen and Dining room!

We enjoyed the John Sutton Suite during our stay. This place is a hidden gem in Indiana, Pennsylvania. I have friends that live directly across the street from this location.(The Sudie Cameron Galonis Castle House) It is a historic and beautiful area. The Suite itself was absolutely beautiful. Two full bedrooms make it convenient for families or friends traveling together. The Spacious John Sutton Suite offers everything you could possibly need and more! The location is also very convenient to many local restaurants. We of course suggest Benjamins. Being a personal friend of the owner has nothing to do with it! (Hi Ben!!)
LOL..Excellent food, atmosphere, and service at Benjamins. Chef Alberto (yet another personal friend) will more than take care of you. Ask for the Chicken Marsala!! Its a wonderful experience!
