“Just popped in to see the refirbishment”

My fiancé and are getting married this year with the reception at Brockencote. This was all booked before the change of owners so very nervously I went to have a look around as soon as the main refurbishment was done. I must say I am very impressed. The hotel now has a much classier feel without losing it's charm. The furniture is exquisite yet still comfy and homely. The main dining area feels a lot more spacious. I am now extremely excited and now feverishly planning for the big day.

We always have Boxing Day lunch at Brockencote and did so this year, however the Hotel has just changed hands and so we were not sure what to expect, we have always enjoyed it.We had a superb meal prepared by the new chef as good if not better than before . The staff were friendly and helpfull, I only eat white bread but was offered brown rolls or a herb white so I was not impressed, until I tried the herb white it was amazing ( I had 3 Pieces } .The meal itself was excellent Ham Hock terrine, Roast Beef with all the trimmings followed by Baked Alaska. All our party enjoyed the meal we will certainly be back before next Boxing Day.

“Faultless”

My parents & I went for dinner here on Christmas Eve and it was amazing! Starting with a warm welcome, we went through to enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the conservatory, along with some superb canapes to get the tastebuds going. The meal itself was absolutely faultless, from the cooking and food presentation to the service we received from the staff - warm, attentive, knowledgable and professional. The manager was overseeing everything beautifully, making sure all the guests were ok and quietly organising the staff. I later saw him driving a minibus taking the hotel guests to midnight mass!!! That's dedication! There was absolutely nothing more we could have wished and really started our family Christmas celebrations off in the right way!

“Wonderful Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

Just returned from this wonderful hotel. We had a two night special deal including evening meal and breakfast. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking the stunning grounds. The decor throughout the hotel was top class and very fitting for the Victorian property. The room was one of the best we have seen and beautifully decorated, clean with all the modern facilities you could ask for.
The food in the restaurant was fabulous and the staff were so smart and attentive. There is so much to see in the area with the sevenvalley railway just a couple of miles away.
We will definately be returning to this absolute Gem

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the front of the building are amazing.

“fabulous meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

I went to Brockencote with a friend for her 65th birthday, we had lunch in the restaurant. From the minute we entered the hotel we were made welcome by the receptionist who came to take our coats then found us a seat in the conservatory for us to have a pre lunch drink. The food was excellent and very enjoyable, the service impecable from all the staff. It is a lovely hotel at the moment,I was told is being refurbished early next year, so will be extra special when completed. We enjoyed our visit so much I have booked again to take two other friends.
