“great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

i stayed at the hotel last night. it was a last minute booking and i managed to book a double room including breakfast for £48. the room was immaculate, a good size and nice and warm. the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. we booked a table in the restaurant. the food was amazing! it was a valentines theme, 3 courses, canapes and a glass of champagne, all for £28. the food was delicious and beautifully presented. the only downside was the breakfast. as it was buffet, it was sat in steel containers and quite dry. apart from that, i would certainly stay again.

“Shocking”

Booked dinner at short notice for an impromptu night out. A good choice of wine and food on the menu and sensible prices at first impression. Starters very disappointing when they arrived. Main courses not much better. Burnt skin on the salmon - admittedly they did offer to replace but I declined as wanted to eat together - even though it was suggested my husband ( or HE ) would take more than 6 minutes to eat his meal. First rude comment. Husbands main was slow roasted belly pork. not sure why it ran with oil - maybe it was deep fried to reheat? Declined dessert but would have liked coffee. NO. the machine was broken. Can you not make a coffee with hot milk as would like a latte. No they couldn't but would drive to Costa if we liked. Second rude comment that I believe was supposed to be funny. Lets pay and leave. Taxi arrived but no one told us. Final straw. Do you have our coats? Over there on the hook. WHAT. Service poor. Food poor. Would I recommend. Never.

“What a lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Just come back from a one night stay at Marsh Farm Hotel. Would be happy to stay here again, staff were friendly and the hotel looks just beautiful. We had a really lovely bedroom, clean bright and warm. The food in the restaurant was excellent, all freshly cooked and local ingredients used as much as possible. A great choice form breakfast and it seemed nothing was too much trouble for the Chef.

Room Tip: Room one at the front of the hotel is lovely. However if you are disabled the stairs are as you woul...

“relaxing stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We only stayed here for 1 night but had a lovely relaxing stay. Beautiful setting and ideal for exploring the local countryside.
Sadly our room didn't have much of a view, but the size of the room made up for this. Yes, it was a tad dated and could have done with a lick of paint and some updating but the bed was huge and comfy, and overall very clean, with better room amenities than you would find in a larger chain hotel.
Breakfast was really great, couldn't fault it. Selection of pretty much everything from fruit to fried breakfast, and the staff were all very friendly and happy to help.
The hotel certainly had character, and I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

“Fantastic New Years Eve”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Ten of us spent a fantastic New Years Eve dinner, disco, bed and breakfast here, and could not fault anything. The waiting staff were very friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We were kept well informed as to when our table would be served, which although the last in our room, was actually no wait at all. The dinner was hot, tasty and plentiful. The Disco was again fantastic, great music, and even played for longer than schedulled time. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Room was comfortable, and warm. Top marks Marsh Farm we will deffinately be back again. :o)

Room Tip: Our party of ten had various rooms, and we were pleased with them all
