A warm welcome awaits at Kings Stile Cottage, Atworth near Bath. We stayed here in order to attend the Jane Austin Festival in Bath in September. Atworth is about 8 miles East of Bath and is on a main bus route into the City or £15 by taxi. Almost as soon as we had parked our car at the rear of the property we were met by Sean who carried our bags to our beautiful twin bedded room at the rear of the cottage. Victoria offered us a cup of tea despite there being facilities in the room for tea, coffee and chocolate. There is a small fridge on the first floor landing for guests use although it is well stocked with soft drinks and chocolate for sale at below the retail price. Our twin room was comfortable with a wash basin towels and face cloths and the shared bathroom was next door. There were no sharing issues as there is only one other guest bedroom, a family room, and we did not get in each others way. Sean and Victoria were the perfect hosts and could not have done any more for us. We were given all the information we needed for our visit to Bath and a taxi was also ordered. The cottage has all the charm any traveller would expect with personal touches a homely atmosphere and a huge English country breakfast. There was fresh fruit, cereals and a full cooked breakfast, juice, tea and freshly brewed coffee. I would defy you to find better in the 5 star Royal Crescent hotel! We were set for the day and did not eat again until late afternoon. Literally a few yards to the left of the cottage is The White Hart Public House. I can highly recommend this as we ate there on the Friday and Saturday night. The steaks are superb and the menu extensive. Excellent wine at a reasonable price. As soon as we returned from Bath on Saturday we were once again met by Sean and Victoria and offered tea. What can I say; you will not find a better place to say or more hospitable hosts. Excellent
