I suppose this sort of place only suits a certain sort of person; however it wasn't exactly cheap which gave me the initial impression it might be better.
The room was outdated and dusty- i hate to think how the owners live if their rooms are like that. The character of the place compromised by tacky ornaments and sad looking plants.
As for the owners, the genle-man was lovely although not nearly as apologetic as he could have been for our displeasure; and i found whom i am guessing to be his wife and daughter to be fairly rude and abrupt, their attitude being of a moody teenager- and i am not just referring to the daughter!. Perhaps they're not used to the abrasive nature of someone disappointed due to their high standards not being met, although i'm sure many a customer have complained.
The food was nice, and cheered me up a little yet even that was cancelled out my the attitude of those serving it.
I spend a lot of time in swindon and am a big fan of old country pubs but this was by far the most disappointing of my stays anywhere like this. You could do a lot worse, perhaps if you booked a Holiday Inn room in central town, but apart from that, this place was awful.
I shall not be coming back, i'd rather throw my money to the pigs than let the awful women and her daughter spend it on more hideous jewellery.

The room was clean, comfortable, and warm - even so we were offered a second heater. This level of service was typical of our whole stay: when a taxi we had ordered did not arrive, the landlady gave us a lift to Marlborough! The breakfast was excellent and extensive, and evening meals at the restaurant were also extremely high quality. The inn boasts a well-stocked and reasonably priced bar - plenty of good real ales and a decent wine list. The Inn with the Well is dog-friendly, and has a very friendly dog: Hi Marley! Overall, just a great, cheerful place from which to access the sights and sites of Wiltshire.

All together a very relaxing and enjoyable break. we stayed for two nights and
had intended to eat out in marlborough on the second night .but enjoyed our first night in
so much it was pointlessn to drive anywhere
We definitely intend stopping here again
