“A Hidden Gem!”

We found Spinney Cross from booking.com as well and we are so glad we did! We rented a car in Bath and got hopelessly lost trying to find Spinney Cross. It was our first time in the UK and our first time driving on the other side of the road with unfamiliar traffic signs/rules. We were so stressed and ready to pack it all in. I called Dot and she guided us all the way back to the b&b and was there to meet us on arrival. She was so warm and friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure our comfort. The accomodations were just superb with breathtaking views and the breakfast was delicious. From the reviews here I expected a lot and got even more. Dot introduced us to the local pub and it was just magical. She also helped us arrange our sightseeing jaunts and offered so many helpful suggestions on how best to see the area. My 8 year old son still insists that his time at Spinney Cross was the highlight of his England/Ireland vacation...and my husband and I have to agree! We were inchanted by Spinneycross and beautiful Wiltshire. We will certainly be back!

“Peace & Quiet!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

Please note if you follow your sat nav you will get lost, follow Dot's easy to follow instuctions you will find this B & B.. You are greeted by Dot with a glass of wine to enjoy on your own patio. The room was spacious, clean and tidy, with a king size bed.As said in previous reviews the views are fantastic, and you are even provided with binoculars to look over Bath. The location gaurantees peace and quiet. Travelling into Bath can be reached on the No 72X Bus which stops oposite the Swan pub and runs every hour, please stand on the pub side to flag the bus down. Or you could drive down to the Crown pub and catch the 13X into Bath which runs every 30mins. the 72x does not return after 6.00pm. Dot is a friendly host and cooks a fantastic Wiltshire breakfast. An excellant B&B to stay at.

Room Tip: all rooms are very good.

“Relax and chill”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2011

Found Spinney Cross from Booking.com and searched using their customer reviews, would have been impossible to find on tripadvisor as this is not actually listed as Bath.

The rooms are below the main house overlooking a beautiful garden and the whole city of Bath in the distance. Our room was MASSIVE, with a 6' extremely comfortable bed with excellent linens, a 28" tv, separate bathroom with bath and shower over and amazingly a kitchen which included the use of a normal size fridge - full of beer/lager in which a "take and replace" facitly was in place. This is an excellent idea. The breakfast room between the two bedrooms seated 4 and we enjoyed our breakfast on the first morning with the other guests who were staying there. Good quality full english breakfast with toast and a selection of jams/marmalades.

Although you are a little way out of bath, the bus route is excellent and as the house is so peaceful you can relax in your room or on your own patio (on which we were served a lovely glass of wine on arrival) with your drink in the evening. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you.

Room Tip: No need lovely rooms

“Absolutely gorgeous :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 April 2011

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Spinney Cross and absolutely loved it! Not only are the views breath-taking but the accommodation and service was outstanding! The breakfasts were also delicious. A very homely and friendly atmosphere and also great location being only a short drive or bus ride from Bath etc. We will be coming back!

“Fantastic, amazing find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2011

We stayed in the B&B for 2 nights and it was absolutely superb - the rooms were big and clean and the breakfast room was lovely (not to mention the absolutely delicious breakfast that was served!) We had a corner bath too which was great! Even received a glass of wine upon arrival!

The bedroom looked onto the huge garden with beautiful views through sliding glass doors, where you could sit outside on the patio, where we also spotted a deer walking through the bottom of the garden!

Not too far out from Bath, and this place made our visit absolutely brilliant, would definitely stay again.
