“Have had better treatment and hospitality in the wilds”

Spent one night here this year and it will never happen again,If it had not been for the rest of the group i was with i would have left and gone home.
It was cold dusty and the staff where very antisocial, with the exception of the landladys daughter who did at least try to be plesant.
After two earlier visits last year i expected a lot better from the landlady and staff. time to change your career paths people if this is what you call service maybe you should try Hospitality training

Well where do i start???Our party started to arrive a little before the 1500 hrs set for us as did we, what we did not expect was that we could not enter the premises until 1730 hrs and so had to congregate in the courtyard on a rather wet overcast day for 2 hours until we got permission to go in.I as a disabled biker who suffers with Chronic Bronchial Emphysemia am still suffering the benefits of this wait even now.I for one amongst our crowd do not appreciate being told to stand outside like a naughty schoolboy.Needless to say after the way we were treated over the weekend with shoddy service, sullen service and an overall lack of respect which as paying guests I would have thought we would be entitled to was a farce and i shall not even mention the food or rather lack of same.I have to say that prisoners doing time for crime would have been treated better.

“NO WAY !!”

After being told we could use our rooms from around 3 pm we arrived at that time, only to be told that we could not get into any part of the hotel untill 5-30pm it was raining and our group of friends were left to sit in the court yard, very cold and getting wet. myself and husband an a couple of other in our group are disabled, so not a good start to our weekend. on entering the room it was nice enough, but the table lamp was broken but still left plugged in , i was worried about touching it to turn it off. there was still spilt coffee on the side table where the kettle was so i had to wipe that up myself.
our party was there for a halloween party of course pre booked, and was ment to be a BBQ well 25 sausages 25 burgers, and a bread roll some very cheap puff crisp and a bowl of salad was what was laid on as a BBQ for 30 + bikers. neadless to say about 10 people went hungry that night, and when i asked at the bar where the nearest take away was i got told i wouldnt be allowed to bring it back to the hotel as they supply food.
the room we were using was directlyonto the court yard and because we were using the door, i was told when i complained about the rooms being so cold that we could see our breath, that the heating had been turned off as we chose to use this door rather than go right through the bar and out the other side, after a few complaints heating did however get put back on about 3-30 AM,
After not being fed the night before, we were well looking forward to breakfast. and what a feast that was. orange juice was already poured into glasses on the tables, and small boxex of cereal were on a serving table, we waited untill our breakfast got served a plate with 4 slices of toast was put on each table. and was told help ourselves to jam..... Not what you would expect as a breakfast anywhere i have ever stopped before, this was a disgrace to the hotel buisiness, and a total let down to us and our freinds we will not be staying there again.

“Appauling Service”

After Travelling to Calne from Southampton for a Charity Event at the White Hart, I was quite Disgusted To find we were not allowed In to the Hotel until 17:30 despite the fast our booking time was 14:00, I found The Hotel Staff Very RUDE and ignored pretty much all there Guests in our group which is appauling.

The Room was Small, Cold and seemed some what unkept, the beds were scruffy and carpets looked like they could do with a good clean.

The Main Highlight of the trip was the delightful Meal we had ( IF YOU WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET anything), consisted of 1x Cheap nasty Burger & and an even cheaper Sausage and hotdog roll and was most definatley under catered for considering group booked for 30+ persons, Breakfast was digustingly small especially considering the evening meal it consisted of ONE slice of toast per person cup of coffee, glass of Cheap apple or Orange Juice, and Probably the Worlds most smallest packet of cerials.

My overall Remarks of this hotel is STEER WELL CLEAR.

“Attitude and treatment from Landlady stunk”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

After attending 2 charity events her last year i had no concerns about going back again. Although the rooms weren't brilliant and we were freezing cold at the first event as they refused to put the heating on, the ad lib buffets and cooked breafasts made up for it.

We retuned to this years charity event and it was like the landlady had a personality transplant, she was rude to nearly every guest, they took rooms off people that had booked months in advance and never cooked enough food for 10 never mind the 30 guests attending, and what was cooked was nothing more than cheap value burgers and sausages, and we were told sorry there is no more food, so half of the guests never ate at all and were left to starve. The rooms were all freezing again as she refused to put the heating on, we had no hot water after 10pm, and to top it all off no-one got a cooked breakfast, just a couple bits of cold toast instead.

Was told bar shut at 1am, but we were still told too wind the event up just after 12am, but when other 3 guests not in our party, retuned to the hotel at 2am it was opened up again and they were served again and again with no problem. Yet they were quite clearly very drunk on returning to the hotel. They were very noisy keeping most of us up half the night, yet we were told to keep the noise down over 2 hours previously. When we complained the landlady just said "oh wel they had a charty event up the road" so what the hell was ours then!!

Will never be returning back thats for sure. Our group always fills the hotel, and this had been the 3rd event we had there, for a hotel that is lucky to get 6 people max in the bar at night you would have thought they would have welcomed our business. Obviously not!

Would certainly not reccomend this hotel to anyone, your better off paying a bit more and getting the service you deserve.
