“Fantastic customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I have stayed at Beechfield on a number of occasions for work and also been to meetings there. It is a picturesque hotel in beautiful grounds. I have always found the staff helpful and always willing to go that extra mile.

The bedrooms are all unique and I have stayed in the manor house where the rooms are traditional and spacious and also in the coach house, where the rooms are modern, contemporary and comfortable.

The food has always been excellent with good choices for breakfast, lunch and evening meals.

I would highly recommend Beechfield House.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet as the hotel is in its own grounds. The rooms in the manor house are slightly mo...

Thank you for your very kind comments especially regarding the service from our team. We do try hard to ensure all our guests enjoy their stay and it is reassuring to get such positive feedback from such a regular guest.

“Nice hotel”

Stayed here for a wedding between Christmas and NYE. The wedding was really good, and the food was excellent. However, the room really let the hotel down.

It was difficult to find, as the rooms weren't numbered, but when we did find it, the room was baking hot. Even with the windows open, and all heating off, it was uncomfortably warm. Speaking to other guests at breakfast, they had the same problem. In the morning, I went for a shower, only to discover that we only had a bath with a shower head. I had nowhere to attach it, so I had to hold the shower. The water pressure was poor, and the light above the tub had gaps around it, so I could see the electrics as I was washing.

However, the breakfast, feel, and grounds of the hotel were excellent. I don't think it was worth the original rack rate, but we got a discount, so I was not unhappy with the price.

Room Tip: Don't go for Hazel, if you want a morning shower.

Thank you for your feedback. The Hazel room has been redecorated since your visit and new carpets, furniture and bed will all be in place by the end of March 2012. The bathroom is scheduled for a refit later in the year. Heating can be an issue - some find it too hot, some too cold so not always easy to get it right but we do try!

Thank you for your review - always nice to get feedback on our Sunday lunch. On your next visit you should see the recently refurbished gents and ladies loos and the redecorated Music room.

“Pleasant stay - excellent food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

A traditional country house hotel beautifully decorated for Christmas. Even in winter the grounds looked super and I would love to see the walled garden/swimming pool in the spring.

Top marks to the Claire, the receptionist (and another charming blonde girl whose name I didn't get - sorry ) and to Linda the simply excellent beauty therapist. Not very high marks for the indifferent service from the bar staff.

Room (Lime) was very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. All spotlessly clean (so top marks to housekeeping as well).

The retaurant was full so we had room service - excellent - although the creamy cheese in the charcuterie platter rasted a bit soapy. No idea what it was.

If it hadnt have been for Claire and Linda though I wouldn't have enjoyed the stay as much.

Room Tip: The coach house has very thin walls and you can even here the TV being switched on!

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback which I have passed on to the relevant staff. The pool opens at the end of March and the gardens look great from March onwards so hope you can plan in a return visit when you can enjoy both fully.

“Great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

My husband and I had a two day stay at the hotel. Because we had such a wonderful stay I am writing my first ever Tripadvisor review. From the moment we arrived every member of staff we came into contact with was friendly and helpful. My case was carried to the room, Pear. It was spacious, clean, freshly painted with a settee well placed for viewing the flat screen TV. There was a good view of the pool and the attractive landscape beyond. The bed was the best I have ever slept in and the sheets were white, fine and crisp. The duvet was light and much preferred to blankets. The food was very good and the staff were very helpful in catering for my very difficult diet and had bought in soya milk especially. The breakfast was well-cooked to order and there was a good selection of fruits and cereal as well as delicious croissants. The lounge and bar area were very pleasant and comfortable and the fires were welcoming on a winters day. I had a facial on my last morning. It was excellent with natural products. The hotel owner has been renovating the hotel since 2006. We understood our bathroom was due a make over though we had no problems with it. and we will certainly be paying a return visit.

Room Tip: First floor rooms in the main building overlooking the pool were large and gave great views

Thank you for such a wonderful review. As an update on our refurbishments - the Pear room has been redecorated and new blinds fitted. New carpets are being fitted at the end of March and handmade beds and new furniture by mid April. The bathroom is scheduled for a full refit by mid 2012. Look forward to seeing you again - many thanks.
