After regularly staying in good but large hotels, it makes a very pleasant change to be somewhere different. It's somewhere that feels a bit more like home. The personal touch of the owners is very much evident in the quality and attention to detail. If you are here on business there is no need to stay further afield. Holme House is a B&B so it doesn't offer a bar etc, but it is amidst the amenities of the town with many traditional pubs, trendy bars and a range of restaurants within 200 metres.
The location besides the Post Office meant a little noise around 6am but otherwise it was quiet in my room. I stayed at another popular location just down the road the following night and there was a lot more external noise. Looking back, I would have preferred to stay at Holme House on both nights.
I was here on business and I was happy to recommend Holme House to the local business that I was visiting, which was within easy walking range.
On a personal level, my wife, a 'Hotel Inspector' who has worked in the hotel trade and whose family has been in hospitality for 25 years, would be pleased if I brought her to Holme House. It's nice to meet people who really care about the service they offer.
