“Convenient, friendly, comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I (and numerous members of my family) have stayed at the Premier Inn many times over the past few years. Our mother is in the Sandholme Fold care home in Hipperholme which is just a couple of miles north of Brighouse. The Inn is on the Wakefield Road a couple of miles east of Brighouse, very close to the M62.

The rooms are comfortable and roomy, the bathrooms spacious, the staff extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. They have an on-call taxi service that is prompt and affordable. Since I usually travel alone, they insist on putting me on the second floor for safety (I would actually prefer to be on the ground floor but I appreciate their concern).

The ONLY drawback concerns managing baggage - the front door does not open automatically and there is no baggage cart. It is quite a struggle to get the baggage up the steps and through the front door. Then there is the trek down the passage to your room.

“Could have been killed!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I had high hopes for this one after the reviews i've seen but it was awful from start to finish.

1. I only had BBC1 and BBC2 working on the TV, i mentioned this twice and twice i was told someone would come and sort it out, but no one came

2. I could not connect to the wifi, the signal was too weak and i could rarely even see it let alone connect to it. Again, mentioned and no one came

3. My room (209) was freezing, i turned the heating on full but was still too cold, they had left a portable electric heater in the room (i'm guessing from past complaints), this was on all night but the room was still cold

4. The bed was like rock, would have been more comfortable on the floor lol

5. The extractor fan in the bathroom was very loud, i tried closing the bathroom door to lessen the sound but it still disturbed my sleep and it results in the bathroom being eve n colder then the rest of the room, and i HATE taking showers in a cold room

6. An this one took some beating, i went to unplug the electric heater before i checked out and half the plug was smashed off, my finger went inside the plug and i missed the wires (that were still plugged in) by millimeters!!!!!

I complained again in the morning but i found they didn't really care that much. So much for the refund if you have a bad night lol

Its safe to say i will be contacting a MD or CEO with this one, i have taken pictures of the plug for them to see.

On a lighter note...

The pub next door was nice, great food and was nice and busy. The breakfast in the hotel was really nice as well

Room Tip: stay away from 209 if you like Wifi

“Beauty of the North”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

An excellent Premier Inn with very friendly staff making us feel a valued and important guest. Breakfast can be overwhleming but of course you can have as little as you want! There is no restaurant at the hotel but a pub/restaurant 100 yards away on the same site. We did not use this but instead went to an italian restaurant (Pregos) in nearby Brighouse which was excellent. The hotel is excellently positioned for access from the M62 and does not suffer from traffic noise. We had a ground floor room at the rear of the hotel overlooking the river and canal and this was very quiet.

Room Tip: We had a room at the rear so were away from any road noise at the front. Can't say though whethe...
