“An amazing start to our honeymoon”

I've been meaning to get around to writing this review for a year now. I simply can't say enough about this property. It is one of a kind, stunning, amazing and beautiful. I had paid for a premium view room, and that's precisely what we got. Further up the hill, with a stunning view over the valley to the villages (Fayence, etc) across the way.

We travelled early October, and so the resort was not busy. The weather was quintessential Provence, and so we were able to enjoy the pool (to ourselves), which is perhaps the most amazing part about this hotel. The pool area is, quite frankly, one of the most gorgeous things I have ever seen, with the infinity edge falling over the hills, with the scent of lavendar in the air, fresh wood wires off in the distance. I'll remember that place for the rest of my life!

Not beating around the bush, this hotel is very expensive, but you get what you pay for. The rooms (suites) are terrific, with a lovely living room, separate bedroom, appreciated dressing area, and a beautiful bathroom with a deep soaking tub and a wonderful walk-in shower. Included in our rate of 650 Euros a night (!!!) was breakfast -- thank heavens as it was 90 Euros a day for the two of us! However, the ability to enjoy ones breakfast on the large, private terrace, with that view over the hills and mist and low cloud in the valley is now engrained in my head forever.

The food here is also absolutely to die for. The day we arrived, we had a light meal in the "casual" restaurant, which is a stunning room with great energy, good food and good service. We also ate in the same room on a subsequent evening, sitting at the bar and drinking champagne by the glass and eating a tasty meal. We then went back to the room and ordered hot chocolate and a cheese plate, and watched a movie.

The service throughout the resort is exceptional, from the valet staff to the front staff, to the crew that transports you back and forth to your room in the rain with the golf cart. What a terrific property.

In short, save, scrimp and save, so that you can splurge on a few days at this magnificent resort. I can't wait to return, when I can afford it again!

Room Tip: Pay for a room with a view -- you won't be disappointed!

“Provence a Different Way”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

The Four Seasons in Domaine Terre Blanche is an oasis not typical of most hotels in Provence. The resort extends over hundreds of acres, includes very spacious "country French" cottage suites, and two hillside golf courses all with great views over the valley just south of Fayence. The main lobby and environs is of a contemporary style with a number of pieces of attractive modern art and sculpture. The rooms are all suites with separate living and bed rooms. The pool and spa are spectacular, and the two golf courses, while not of championship quality, are certainly worth playing; one could spend the entire day at the extraordinary practice/learning center. While the food is good, it is "upscale" and pricey, and options within the hotel are limited. Nearby hilltop villages with more reasonable dining choices are reached by taxi or rental car. Overall, a very good resort, but most would not recognize it as similar to other Four Seasons properties.

“Spectacular venue, service, ambiance, and facilities.”

Most wonderful experience I have had in my travels to date. Service was exceptional as was the suite (villa) we stayed in for the week. Food and incidentals were expensive (internet was 25 E for the week) but it was to be expected for the type of venue. The grounds were immaculate and stunningly beautiful. The resort has 36 holes of golf designed by Dave Thomas and 35 of them were very challenging. The 2nd hole on Le Chateau (par 3) left one wondering however! The only real complaint from a golfers' standpoint was that both courses were way too over watered for the week we were there.
The meals were typically high quality French with the accent on presentation as well as exceptional service. The surrounding villages date back to Roman times and were fascinating to experience. All off-resort dining was very French country side oriented and quite good! Wineries were abundant and easily found with the help of the concierge staff as was the above referred dining. Monte Carlo, Nice, Cannes, Grasse, and Cabris were a short drive on our off day from golf and provided a very nice excursion. It will be a long time before one forgets this experience. The owners (Dietmar Hopp et al) and the Four Seasons have combined to forge a very memorable experience.

Room Tip: I can not imagine a bad room site

“Excellent Resort”

The Four Seasons at Terre Blanche is a special place in the heart of Provence. The suites were among the best I have stayed at, service was excellent, everything was very clean. The facility was everything a Four Seasons resort should be. The quality of the Golf courses was a real supprise, they were simply outstanding. Dinner and drinks were overly expensive in my view, but the suites and golf were good value.
