“Overpriced for what you get”

Just wanted to reinforce some of the comments we read. We were planning on staying for 5 nights here, but left after 1. It looked good on a first inspection, but there were problems.

We stayed on the second floor in the centre room. When we tried to open the vertical blinds, some of them fell off their tracks. This left a huge gap that allowed the bright street lights to shine right into the room making it difficult to sleep The air conditioner just blew the air rather than cooling it. The shower had some weird scum on the floor and walls. Overall the room felt dirty. There were electrical outlets with no covers, concrete patchwork and stains on some of the walls.

They did have a fridge, sink and microwave which was good, but we never used them.

The beds were hard and the sheets had stains and were wearing through as well. Didn't encourage a great nights sleep.

The balcony was great. The view was blocked by trees though.

The breakfast that is included was nothing to write home about - toast with butter and optional microwaved eggs.

They have a pool - barely! It is about 6 feet squared! I'm not exaggerating.

It cost us $92 per night and we found way better places with better views for cheaper.

“No value for the high price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011 via mobile

We pulled into SJDS mid afternoon and chose Inn on the Pacific because it was listed in our Frommers guide as having the best brach front location, it was named #1 hotel, it has great balconys and posada azul was full. The location is great and looks right over the bay but it's partially blocked by trees. The charged us $92 inc breakfast for one night. When we went into the room I went to open the balcony doors one of the (few remaining) green plastic V blinds crashed to the ground. Upon investigation of the room we discovered that the ac didn't work, the toilet didn't flush, there were dirty hand prints all over the light swithches and walls, holes and major cracks in the walls, dirt in the bottom of the shower, a huge unfinished plaster patch above the toilet (plaster dust everywhere ), super thin and worn sheets with stains, gross looking stains on the sides of the matresses and a slight smell of urine. For breakfast we were offered toast, fruit and eggs. The eggs never showed ( probably for the better as a previous review said they were microwaved) but the toast and coffee were pretty good. The fruit was sitting out and was covered in fruit flies. Needless to say we did not feel this place was worth its price so we checked out early the next morning and checked into l'estacion, so far it's great!

“Fabulous Spacious Room with all the essentials just feet from the ocean!”

The Manager, Fernando, and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was nicely decorated and very clean...enjoyably spacious for our 11 day stay. Balcony looked out over the main street and ocean....just feet from the sand. We loved everything about the Inn, except that it is right in the heart of some restaurants that play live music late into the morning. It wasn´t every night...thankfully. If you are looking for action and party scene, this lovely hotel puts you in close proximity. If you crave peaceful evenings, you might want to move up into the hills away from the night life.

“What a great place to stay”

The hotel was wonderful and the staff, the best. It sits just across the street from the beach. Includes a great breakfast, pool, has a locked parking area for your car. The staff comes and gets the keys and parks it for me. Bars and restaurants start across the street and goes south for blocks. Location is the best. Try and your love too!!

We stayed 3 nights here 3 and just love it, our room were located on the second floor in front of the beach with balcony, the view is amazing, we had a room with kitchenette, fridge, microwave, tv cable, AC, wifi and private bath with hot water and the best thing is the generator, san juan del sur has serious problem with the power. Great staff, great service, great place.
