This small hotel is only a block from the beach, and convenient to everything in San Juan del Sur. The rooms are very clean and well maintained--basic, but certainly very comfortable. It is located just behind the Barrio Cafe, which means you sometimes hear noise from the restaurant. However, the bar closes at 10:30, and its very quiet after that. Staff were very friendly, and the room rate includes breakfast. Certainly not the most upscale choice in San Juan del Sur, but excellent value for the price!

Azul Pitahaya is 100 meters away from the beach and the main street in San Juan Sur, Nicaragua, is a small hotel with a good restaurant. They don´t have a lot of space for gardens, swimming pools or parking lot (you leave the car in the street but they have a night security guard) but you don´t really need it if you like simplicity of life in such a beautiful little town.
Our double room was clean and the sheets as new, basic- nicely decorated, hot water, WI-FI, cable TV, A/C, fan, safety box for only $36 with a good breakfast.The best rate/value we got during our trip to Nicaragua. Staff was nice and helpful.
Their restaurant/bar "Barrio Café", their prices and dishes are good but you can also have your meals in several other options of beach front bars, cafeterias and restaurants.
The only thing we didn´t enjoy was having the bar music a little bit loud until around 11 pm and then the staff making noise and chating while they were closing the place (we were really tired after a 8 hours drive). The bar/restaurant is less than 15 meters away from the rooms building so you can heard everything from your bed! But probably normal people doesn´t get in bed so early when they are in the beach, so it is not a big deal really.

This is a great hotel at a great price! The beds are comfy, ac is cold, tvs have a good selection of cable. The rooms were spotless. Staff was amazing! Some of the friendliest people we met in Nica. They were always smiling and helpful with all of our needs. Food at the attached cafe is tasty and priced reasonably. I do agree that rooster needs to go! Otherwise, a nice place. Would definitely stay there again!!!

The staff was very nice and helpful. They promptly checked us in. They assisted us with laundry for a decent price. The cafe was pretty good, although they do not offer a happy hour. They had a cucumber martini on "special". However we didn't understand why it was on special. It was on the regular menu for the same price. The breakfast was really good and included in the price of the room. However, we decided to leave after one night because of the damn roosters that started going off around 4:30am. They went on until we checked out at like 11. 6+ hours of listening to that thing was more than enough for us. We found another place to stay for the rest of our time in San Juan del Sur.
