We spent 5 days here in a 1 bedroom casita and it was a very enjoyable stay. The location is not perfect if you don't have a car but we were happy to spend most days by the pool and just relaxing. It's a bumpy 15 - 20 minute ride ($15) to SJDS, so once you're at Mango Rosa, it's best just to stay there. We made one trip to town for groceries and to look around, which was more than enough. You can walk to the beaches (Marsella and Maderas) but I would recommend getting a lift - the beaches are especially nice at sunset. The food at the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. The service was very good and there's a fun atmosphere in the eating area. There's a variety of Mexican dishes (nachos, tacos, fajitas, quesadillas) as well as burgers and chicken wings. Every night there are specials, which were also good and just slightly more expensive. The casita comes with a kitchen which is fine for cooking basic meals - especially breakfast and lunch. My only complaint is that the casita is a bit worn and dated - probably time for a fresh coat of paint and some updates to the furniture and decor. The pool was great (very clean) and the grounds are nicely landscaped with tropical flowers and trees. All the staff at MR was friendly and seemed happy to be working there. Dexter was very professional and looked after all our travel arrangements and answered any questions we had. Overall, I would recommend MR as a resort, especially if you're not looking for the bar or restaurant scene in SJDS.
