All the positive reviews about this place are right. We live in the area and were given an evening at the Inn as a gift. Although my office is less than 10 minutes away, I (we) felt like we were staying at a Vermont country inn, far, far from the real world. It had snowed a few days before we arrived, so it was even more beautiful. Watching the horses being taken out to pasture through the snow, and then lead back in again later in the day was a lovely sight to see. Because my friend boards a horse there, we got a personal tour of the barn from her, but I am guessing that guests can walk through the barn themselves and see all of the beautiful horses (and dogs, barn cats, donkeys, mini horses and alpacas!). (Check out the funny looking teeth on the alpacas) Because Hershey is nearby, there is chocolate in the rooms and throughout the Inn. Tea, coffee, cookies, brownies, cobbler, nuts… all available to guests throughout the day. Beer and wine was in the communal refrigerator. The rooms even had complimentary lip balm and reusable water bottles. It reached a point where my business mind wondered how they made a profit with so many free things. That leads me to the only negative: the Inn is so popular that it can be extremely difficult to book the place. If your heart is set on staying here (and it should be), call well in advance of your trip or you will be disappointed. My husband and I are planning a spring or summer visit, so that we can take advantage of the huge wraparound porch, and the balcony attached to “our” room. Thank you to Jane (inn keeper on duty) for being such a gracious hostess.
