What you get in this hotel is basically on par with what you're paying -- just don't expect first-class service or quality.
The room itself is not that pretty, with popcorn ceilings, old red carpet, a noisy refrigerator, and a cooking range that doesn't always want to work. The cabinets could have used some better cleaning, and the shower curtain had a lot of mildew on it. The flat panel TV in the room was nice. The wireless internet was very hit-or-miss, sometimes very slow, sometimes completely unavailable.
The elevators and hallways sometimes have a strange smell to them. The washer/dryers usually work but there's always one out-of-order and they haven't been cleaned in a while. Included with your stay is a Bally's gym pass (2 mi away), which is nice.
The service overall was passable. The front desk is usually pretty friendly and accommodating, but the housekeeping left something to be desired. They sometimes did not show up at all or often forgot to leave new towels and/or tissue.
And, one of the more memorable characters during our stay here -- there was a shirtless, heavy-set "contractor-type" guy that would stand out in the back parking lot day-after-day, rain or shine, pounding beers while leaning on his truck and staring at people passing by. I saw this guy out there everyday and it was the same image -- no shirt, trucker hat, beer in hand. He eventually brought a BBQ grill out and some lawn chairs, and his buddies would show up for a nightly party with loud music until midnight. At one point, they were out there actually doing mechanical work on their trucks right in the parking lot. Even though this is all in violation of the hotel's policy, the management doesn't seem to care.
But, it was cheap. As long as you keep your expectations in check, it's about right for the price.
