This is the most wonderful place I should say, Total country side place where you find dogs, kittens, fields and Horses. Near by places are so country side that you will love it. If you are looking for peaceful, calm , laid back and cool place to spend your weekend or holidays then visit Double W ranch Bed n Brkfast. The hospitality was very nice and felt like a home. The breakfast was too good and tasty. The rooms and bathroom were very clean and neat. They have Big hall where we can even bring outside food and have it. They have TV room where we found Big screen tv and sit and enjoy [which you might do in nights] and daytime you can just roam around the fields, play with dogs, kittens and feed horses or take horse ride. Horses are very nice , calm and well trained so we can sit on horses without any fear. There are so many nice places within 5 miles of circle for dinings and we even can enjoy Honesdale train trip where they play the Train robbery. I am not seen this but people days it's fantastic. It was our wedding anniversary and my wife felt the time we spent their were really amazing. I am planning to visit this place again with my friends group. I rate this place as BEST place to feel the country side exprience. Hope this will help you.

We saw this property listed in a book and called based on that listing and previous reviews of the property. It sounded cosy and away from the bustle.
The location is decent. Although not breathtaking, it is on the top of a hill and it is leafy and rural.
But really, lets get to the point. The house is not really lived in by the family, which owns a house across the field. The home is, however, it seems, lived in by farm hands. A note outside the shared bathroom mentioned that dirty people should not wash up there. (?)
Everything is old, but not in an antique sort of way. Better described as a "That 70's Show" sort of way, but worn as well. There was carpet in the bedroom (OK)and the bathroom (Yuck), stains on pillows(thrown on floor, what more can I say?) and wonky beds.
The entire upstairs area smelled of sweat and wet and mold. I hated the thought that we were paying $180 a night for this.
Throughout, I kept remembering the horseback riding that came included in the price and thought that it must be fantastic and would make it all worth it.
The next morning our host made a very decent breakfast and her very sweet, enthusiastic sons chatted with us a bit. This was the only redeeming part of the stay. I wish, for them, I could leave a good review.
But, I want people to know what to expect here.
When we went to go on horseback riding, we had the bad news that we had understood wrong and that staying at the B&B allows you only a 10% (or was it 15%?)discount on the riding. O M G!!!
Just to sum it up, this is a horse ranch. Its absolutely the least hypoallergenic place I've ever been. We suffered the whole time. Do not come to the Double W "on holiday", as we did. Come if you want to ride horses and don't mind all the formentioned items.

My daughter and I have an annual trip togrether. This was our second time for the riding stable and first time staying at the B&B.

The accomodations were wonderful and ALL of the people made you feel at home. The breakfast that was served was outstanding and more than we could possibly consume. The entire place was clean and homey. We were able to walk around the property, enjoy the horses, and there is even a hot tub on the porch which was especially nice in the evening under the stars with 100's of fireflys flickering in the surrounding woods and fields.

Once again the riding was exceptional,. We requested Curtis as our guide again this year although all the stable people are well qualified. The horses are well cared for and a pleasure to ride.The only disappointment for myself as a more experienced rider is when you do go out as a group you are restricted to the skills of the other riders for using the open fields but even then this is FAR better than any "follow the leader " stable. One advantage to staying on the property was that you were right there to do the first ride of the day and then had the rest of the day to go to near by towns to shop, etc.

We look forward to our return visit and can not begin to say how much we love evrything about this place :-)

All together a ( FIVE STAR in my book ) Great time. Well spent money for an experiance we'll never forget. Filled with some great Visual and mental pictures that we'll never soon forget. We'll Definitly be back ASAP. You really should go there 4 yourself. WAY more pictures than just the pictures you see on this web site.
Lots of land and animals for Friends and Family of all ages to explore.
Riding the horses ( Very well trained for all ages / weights ) on arounds 200acrs. . =======> They have like 7-8 fields (one that you could even watch the sun set while sitting on a huge rock) // a whole bunch of of woods ( filled with lots of trails to go through ) // 2-3 ponds ( for fishing / swimming ),overnight trails are AWSOME. IF you would like to RELAX... great place to do that too. And DON'T FORGET BYOB!!!
This is a place that makes you feel like your in the middle of nowhere but really it's all there in a 3-4 mile drive to just about anywhere youd like to be. Like Lake Wallenpaulpack: Great for jet skiing, boating excursions, ect. Great place for fishing as well. They have ( FIVE STAR ) resterants on( Lake Wallenpaulpack ) very close to the WW Ranch / WWW Riding Stables. Many Great places to goto around th Honesdale / Hawley area. MY home away from home
