Stayed here a couple of times over the past couple of months. My most recent stay was for a week which is when I noticed some things.
I checked in and was greeted by some very friendly and attentive front desk clerks. Check in was a breeze and they asked if I'd like a movie. They have a bunch of DVDs you can choose from to watch in your room. That was a nice surprise and would be great for traveling families.
The room itself was great. I was upgraded to a mini suite with a pull out sofa and two TVs. They also had a microwave and mini fridge as well. Not sure if every room has these but I know the mini suites do.
I have one MAJOR gripe about the room. There is no thermostat. You have two nobs. One to turn between heat and air. The other is the temperature. It was very difficult to maintain a comfortable temperature in the room. It was either too hot or too cold and it never shut off. The layout was great and the Bathroom even has a tv (it works!). The room was spacious and was nice to work in as I didn't feel like I was stuck in a bedroom. It's definitely showing its age with some water damage on the ceiling ( i was on the third floor) and some holes in the ceiling. They didn't really affect my stay but it was disappointing that they hadn't been fixed. The bed was very comfortable but the sheets were paper thin and need to be replaced. I could see a stain underneath the bottom sheet. I just slept on the other side of the bed.
Housekeeping is a whole other ball of wax. While my room was clean the night I checked in, it seemed that as the week went on the housekeeping declined. Now since I don't have an office up here I was working from my room. I'd head out late morning and tell housekeeping I was leaving. On two occasions I was asked if I wanted my room cleaned. Why would I tell you I'm leaving if I didn't want my room cleaned? In these two instances, I came back to a room that was half cleaned. Bathroom was not cleaned other than new towels. Soap marks from where the previous bar of soap were still there and there was hair on the floor. Carpet wasn't vacuumed and the desk surface wasn't wiped down. Thankfully my sheets were changed each day though.
From an amenity standpoint the internet was actually fast here. Hard to believe but I could actually work in a hotel without having to use my air card for access. There business center needs an update. The one computer kept crashing on me and the printer feeding tray on the laser printer was broken making printing less than pleasant. Breakfast was excellent and there is a ton of space to sit down. Most places you are fighting for space in the eating area. That was not the case here. They even have normal highchairs for kids for those of you traveling with little ones. The fitness center was adequate. The pool I didn't use but it looked nice and clean. At the end of the day, I'd probably come back. They just need to work on the lackadaisical housekeeping staff.
