Bruce and Helen couldn't have been nicer hosts. Breakfasts are superb and very filling. Our room (The Phoenix Room) was clean and just right for us.

The Shining Dawn was a lovely period piece. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated and well-equipped. Helen and Bruce were gracious hosts and cooked three delicious breakfasts for us. We were at a large family gathering and other family members who stayed here were equally pleased.

The Shining Dawn is a gorgeous home which the owners (Helen and Bruce) meticulously restored. Our room (Phoenix) was beautifully appointed and had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in (outside my own home). Helen and Bruce greeted us warmly and we instantly felt at home. The best part of our stay was the amazing breakfast which Helen prepared. The yogurt parfait, eggs, soy sausage and German Apple Pancakes were delicious! The night before we were asked which blend of coffee we would prefer in the morning - what a treat! We were in town for only one night, but hope to go back!

My husband and I needed a quick get away for Labor Day weekend, and called the Inn two nights before our intended stay. We were a little concerned about a place that had vacancy before such a big holiday, but were very pleased to find a lovely pair of hosts waiting for us when we arrived. Very clean and quiet...little far away from Gettysburg, but thats our fault. If you are looking to stay in the town of Hanover, PA, its great!
