My reservation notice said that my room was reserved but I would have to contact the hotel to make sure that my room was a No Smoking room. I called the hotel to make sure my reserved room was a No Smoking room. A woman answered the phone. She said that she had not received the notice from the reservation service but she would make sure I got a No Smoking room. I finished packing my car and drove 5 hours to reach the hotel. At check-in I asked where I could enter my Choice card number (a hotel sign said the hotel was part of the Choice Hotel program). The lady said she didn't have a computer so she didn't have any way to record my membership number. I got my room key and went to the room. The room was a Smoking room. I went back to the front desk and told the lady I reserved a No Smoking room. She said that if I reserved a No Smoking room an NS would be on the reservation form she received. She showed me the reservation form that didn’t have NS on it. I told her I had called earlier to make sure I would have a No Smoking room. She said that my form didn't reserve a No Smoking room. I asked if she give me a No Smoking room anyway. I told her that I had passed an empty No Smoking room on the way to my room. She said that all the No Smoking rooms were reserved. It was near midnight on a Thursday night. I went to a store and bought something for the smoking smell in my room. I put the dirty ash tray outside my door. This hotel leaves curtains opened on any cleaned non-occupied room. There were 2 unoccupied No Smoking rooms on my floor. I checked them at 6:AM and the rooms were still empty. I spent 6 miserable hours in that room. Getting up twice during the night to spray for the smell.
