“Blah blah blah”

There may be some minor issues with this property but in no way shape or form is it as horrible as some of you people are making it out to be. First of all...learn the difference between an authorization and a charge before you call complaining that you are being charged double. Second of all the staff here does not lie to the customers. If there is some kind of issue with billing or something along the lines of that, the staff does not have the managers password to override anything. Therefore you obviously must talk to the manager about your issue. He is an extremely busy man as you can probably see from the reviews on this page dealing with all kinds of so called problems. I know for a fact that he returns all calls to complaining customers. As for the cancellation policy, dont make a reservation if youre not sure if u can make it. You are telling the hotel do not sell my room I will be there. Therefore when you do not show up we lose revenue on that room. Another issue...stink bugs...have you watched the news??? They are infesting places everywhere...im sure yoiu even have some at your house...does that mean your house is filthy and disgusting?????????? Housekeeping does a damn good job concidering some of the customers that leave rooms trashed and in complete disarray. That being said some of u should wise up before complaining like a bunch of stuck up snobs.

“If you want ripped off, this is the place for you”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

As you will see by other comments, the owner of this hotel Dave apparently enjoys ripping people off. They charged me for a 3 nights when I only stayed 2. I was lied to by almost every staff member except for Dave and that is only because like the other people who have commented here that they were overcharged, Dave could not seem to return a phone call. I was promised by the person checking me out that Dave would fix it and refund me back the amount I was overcharged. I have been calling for over a week and Dave has never called me back. I believe he has even answered the phone a few times and told me that he was not Dave when I am pretty sure the person I was speaking to was Dave because I have stayed there before and know who he is. Dave even refused to talk to Choice Hotels when I called to try and get this resolved through them. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FILD SOMWHERE ELSE TO STAY UNLESS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE DAVE'S NEXT SCAM VICTIM and like I said if you read the other comments you will see this is apparently a habit of Dave's. Wish I had read them before staying here!

“Average and clean.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

Just got back from a trip to the Burgh and stayed at the Quality Inn in Gibsonia. We have stayed there before many times, and it is always clean. Hair dryers are provided. Standard breakfast fare is available every morning, but you may want to try the Eat 'n Park next door for the breakfast buffet and skip lunch. The only problem we had this time was a clogged tub. I reported it to the front desk, and it was repaired while we were out for the day. Very minor issue. We will probably stay there again. My only complaint is that I think that it is a bit pricey. However, there are only two motels in Gibsonia, and the other one has not been rated on TripAdvisor.

“Horrible, horrible management!! Stink bugs throughout the room! Do NOT stay here!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

We decided last minute to stay at the Quality Inn & Suites in Gibsonia after visting with friends in the area. I called the hotel and asked about rates. I asked Dave, the manager who answered, if he was willing to take $100.00 for a room. He said that he could do that. When we arrived at the hotel 10 minutes later, Dave (the manager) told my husband that the room was going to be $109. Not wanting to argue over $9.00, my husband agreed. The manager told him to initial on a card and sent us on our way. In the morning, we were shocked to be charged over $170 ($149.99 for room plus charges)! We tried for an entire week to get ahold of Dave at the hotel to talk with him about it and he never answered our phone calls. Most of the people at the front desk were extremely rude (all but one nice girl, not sure of her name but it was nice to talk to one NICE person at this hotel!). After talking with corporate, I am convinced that this is a scam that Dave has going (others had complained about the exact same thing). Don't trust this guy's word, whatever you do!! In fact, stay as far away from this place as you can. Besides the service, we were disgusted to find a dead stink bug on our towel plus other stink bugs throughout. Nasty!! Do yourself a favor and drive a few miles extra to Cranberry....you'll be glad you did!

“Clean, friendly and adequate...”

We stayed at this motel in July 2011 to attend a wedding. It's an older property, a former Comfort Inn, I think, rebranded as a Quality Inn and has three floors and no internal corridors. It does have an elevator, though, and we were glad we didn't have to lug our suitcases up a flight of stairs.

The front desk staff was quite helpful and gladly put our "blue ice" in their freezer so that it would be frozen for our return trip. Our room was small--the smallest on the property's floorplan, according to the fire escape route map--but it was clean and we appreciated the lower price that went along with it. The tub/shower had a very high step up, which might be a challenge for traveling seniors. The towels were large and absorbent and better than I expected for the class of hotel. There are refrigerators in every room and we didn't have any problems finding enough outlets for our laptop and chargers. All in all, the hotel was fine for our needs and right in line with what we expected for the price.

The property is located right next to a busy local divided highway, so you might want to request a room on the back side rather than the front side. Also, if you're approaching the hotel from the south, go past it and turn left at the next light, go a short block and turn left again to access the property from the back. That's a lot easier than trying to make a U-turn.

The breakfast selection was pretty standard for Quality/Comfort Inns, but if you're not from Pittsburgh I'd highly recommend having breakfast at the Eat'n'Park next door instead. Eat'n'Park has a lot of excellent and affordable breakfast options and is a true Western Pennsylvania breakfast tradition.

If you're looking for lunch or dinner nearby we recommend Monte Cello's Italian restaurant just south of the hotel at 4655 William Flynn Hwy. Route 8, Allison Park, PA 15101 in the Hampton Shoppes (412-486-9600). This regional seven location chain has great pizza and Italian specialties.
