“Very Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I stay here about 4 times a year. I adore the first desk staff. I've leaned not to bother with the Club Lounge. And as a Platinum member, I find the "upgraded" rooms to be amazingly sub-par. I can only imagine a room without an upgrade.

However, the rooms, as dated as they may be, are always clean and they have NEVER denied me an early check-in. This is NOT a bad hotel--just an average one.

“Really tired sheraton”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

If not for a very friendly staff and excellent day manager, this hotel would be way below average. Even the "refurbished" rooms (I've stayed in both old and new rooms) could at best be considered average compared to any standard Sheraton. The public spaces of the hotel are terribly worn and the entire building feels and smells old. The Club Lounge is poor and emanates a stale food smell at all times. The quality of the food at the hotel, both in the Club Lounge and in the restaurant and bar, is below average for a Sheraton.

My compliments to the staff who do a great job trying to make up for a below average property, but if I had any other Starwood choice in the area I would not stay at this hotel

“Charming hotel in a nice countryside setting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

We've visited this hotel 3 times and enjoy the atmosphere of the bar and restaurant, less business-like and more comfortable. Excellent cuisine at the restaurant, rooms are very comfortable, and service is great. Short drive to other very good restaurants and next door to the Outback. The location at Rts 202 & 30 is perfect for us, would highly recommend this hotel for all travelers looking for something more than a business hotel.

“So-so at best”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Everything about this stay was difficult.
(1) Hard to make a reservation via phone. I was there for a reunion. The reunion committee arranged a special rate for certain dates. I was staying during those certain dates plus a day extra. It was very difficult for the reservation agent to arrange the extra reservation date. Additionally, she didn't reserve the room I requested (a room with two beds).
(2) Was checked in to a room with only one bed for three guests.
(3) The first morning of my stay, there was no hot water. The front desk clerk placed me on hold for a long time while trying to figure out when the engineering staff would be in to fix it. (Really? How long would the front desk let me wait until hot water could be restored...by the way this was on Thanksgiving morning and I had plans with family to get our family meal ready.) Eventually, another desk clerk (Eric) picked up the line and was helpful. He moved us to a room with hot water and two beds (hmmmm...why wasn't that room with two beds available the night before when I checked in).
(4) On day two of the stay, the housekeeping staff never came to change out the linens in our room (wet towels on the floor after being away from the room for 12 hours).
(5) On day three of the stay, a little league hockey team checked in to the hotel. Their adult supervision was lacking and the hotel did nothing to stop the LOUD 9/10 year old boys from running up and down the hallways...yelling loudly at 9 in the morning.
Anytime I mentioned any of these issues to the front desk staff...all they seemed to do was find reasons why this poor service was happening vice finding good solutions to fix the problem. The gym was nice.
I was NOT impressed with my stay and likely will not stay here again.

“Country Atmosphere at Sheraton”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

This Sheraton had a very comfortable feeling appointed in a country style. The unique lobby and dining areas did not feel like a standard business hotel. Rooms were adequate but in general they will need some upgrades in the near future. Nice function rooms. Most rooms have a nice view into the surrounding countryside.
