While traveling I-90 between Christmas and New Years weekend our daughter started throwing up and we needed to stop and get her out of a car and into a bed so we could tend to her properly. We were a bit nervouse because the place looked very run down. The kid at the counter was very nice and even said if we weren't happy with the room, he would refund us and we could go further down the road. We paid $64.95/ night. We drove around the building to another entrance and was a bit concerned because the security door was not working. Walked in and still not impressed. Once in the hallway it smelled clean with no hint of smoking. Once in the room, it looked nice and it was clean. We decided to stay. I walked through the hallways to the restaurant and that was the only time I experienced the smoky smell in the hallways and the ashtrays on the walls. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. They even made chicken soup for my daughter since the only one on the menu was ham and bean (not good for an upset stomach). Food was pretty good. Ordered the chicken parm and it was pretty yummy!
As the night went on, we had to inquire about a 24 hour CVS and a possible emergency room visit. The front desk staff was very helpful. Our only complaint was when our daughter got puke on the bed a little before midnight and we called to get clean sheets. They said they would bring some down but never showed up. We were willing to change it ourselves, we just needed the sheets. Not a big deal though. Most of it made it in the garbage can and we just put towels over the little bit on the bed.
This is definitely not a 5-star hotel but was sufficient for a stop while traveling across PA. So, if you stay here, request a room at the back of the hotel and don't expect the Ritz Carlton.
