“Good enough for a much needed hotel while traveling I-90”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

While traveling I-90 between Christmas and New Years weekend our daughter started throwing up and we needed to stop and get her out of a car and into a bed so we could tend to her properly. We were a bit nervouse because the place looked very run down. The kid at the counter was very nice and even said if we weren't happy with the room, he would refund us and we could go further down the road. We paid $64.95/ night. We drove around the building to another entrance and was a bit concerned because the security door was not working. Walked in and still not impressed. Once in the hallway it smelled clean with no hint of smoking. Once in the room, it looked nice and it was clean. We decided to stay. I walked through the hallways to the restaurant and that was the only time I experienced the smoky smell in the hallways and the ashtrays on the walls. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. They even made chicken soup for my daughter since the only one on the menu was ham and bean (not good for an upset stomach). Food was pretty good. Ordered the chicken parm and it was pretty yummy!

As the night went on, we had to inquire about a 24 hour CVS and a possible emergency room visit. The front desk staff was very helpful. Our only complaint was when our daughter got puke on the bed a little before midnight and we called to get clean sheets. They said they would bring some down but never showed up. We were willing to change it ourselves, we just needed the sheets. Not a big deal though. Most of it made it in the garbage can and we just put towels over the little bit on the bed.

This is definitely not a 5-star hotel but was sufficient for a stop while traveling across PA. So, if you stay here, request a room at the back of the hotel and don't expect the Ritz Carlton.

Room Tip: Equest at the back of the hotel away from restaurant, bar and smoking rooms.

“Filthy and Smokey”

My lady and I booked two nights at this lovely establishment.
The check in at the front desk was easy enough. Nothing notable to say about the staff.
When we first entered the room, it looked like it was nice enough, that is until we inhaled. To say it smelled of cigaret smoke would be an understatement. There might as well have been an old man sitting in the corner putting down 8 packs a day. The bathroom smelled like chicken wings, why? I really don't want to know.
At first glance the bed seemed just fine. When we pulled back the covers and got a closer look, we were horrified to see the bed covered in black hair which we could only hope belonged to some sort of animal. There was hair on the blankets, there was hair on the sheets, there was an obscene amount of hair on the pillow cases, and when we took those off, there was hair embedded on the pillows themselves. We have two theories. One, they just didn't change the sheets and the previous guests had some shedding problems. Two, the maids threw all the clean sheets on the disgusting unvaccumed carpet. Neither one bodes well for the maid service.
When we brought this to the managers attention, he was very responsive and extremely apologetic. But, the damage was already done and were we're thoroughly grossed out for the rest of our stay.

Another odd feature of this place is the local bar and lounge located inside the front of the building. They had live music music going on Friday and Saturday nights until 2:00am. Luckily our room was far down enough where we weren't kept up by the noise but a few rooms down you could feel the vibrations and hear the music pretty clearly.

The breakfast was decent. Check out was quick and easy. There was plenty of parking. If those three things are what's most importan to you, I highly reccomend this motel. If you value cleanliness, peace and quiet, and hair free linens, I would probably stay far far away.

“Stop on I-90”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

This Quality Inn was OK for a stop on I-90 but was a bit run down. The outside security doors did not work but facilities in room worked OK. Restaurant conveniently on site, but with very limited menu.

“Warning: You may be overcharged and dissappointed with your stay!”

Last weekend I was overcharged for my stay at this Quality Inn, despite the fact that I had personally worked out the rate with the manager, Ankur Shah. When I inquired about the overcharge, the manager personally responded he would have refunded the overcharge if my email inquiry was more "polite", but refused to do so because of my "tone". Now I am forced to contact my credit card company and Choice Hotels Corporate to try to deal with this "bait and switch" billing, what a headache!

“Smoking in the hallways”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

We booked this hotel using Quality Inn's website as part of our road trip. We arrived around 7pm and were tired. I'm sure we could have found another hotel, but didn't have the energy to drive around after 8 hours on the road. This is my chief complaint...When I checked in I asked the clerk if these were nonsmoking rooms in which he confirmed they were. However, he did not mention that smoking was allowed in the hallways. There are ashtrays built into the walls. We booked 2 rooms and both smelled of smoke. (Maybe the builders hadn't considered that smoke can seep through the vents and whenever someone opens their doors.) Had I known where smoking was allowed prior to booking, I would have chosen another hotel. When we were checking out the next day, my son (4 yrs old) complained of feeling sick as we were walking through the hallway (I was wracked with guilt upon hearing this.) I think hotels ought to advertise/mention this on their website. I also didn't mention it to the clerk because I don't believe a room change would have fixed the problem. The room itself looked like the picture on the website and yes, the walls were thin. (I've come to expect this at hotel chains regardless of the brand.) Would I ever stay at this location again...No! One last comment, we saw a roach scampering across the floor. The positive statement I can say about the place was that the restaurant on site for dinner was delicious. However, I will have to agree that the breakfast was so-so.

Room Tip: Only stay here if you are a smoker!
