I travel and stay in hotels 2-3 nights a week. I had never stayed at a Residence Inn as I am a Hilton person. I was pleasantly surprised by some aspects. First the negative: I CANNOT STAND hotels that do not have automatic doors, since manuevering multiple bags/luggage through a double set of non-automatic doors is cumbersome and not what you feel like doing after a long day of travel. The desk clerk watched me struggle and didn't help. EVERY hotel listen up: HAVE AUTOMATIC DOORS, Please! What if someone was handicapped?
The other negative: I always try to stay fit on the road by using the fitness room. Yes, people do use the fitness rooms. This was a fitness "closet "off the pool area. It was extremely hot and umcomfortable. Another girl was in there and she was suffering, too. I complained about the temperature in the room and they could not adjust it. It had NO AIR CONDITIONING. Seriously? Why do hotels have fitness rooms with no air? Do you want guests to stroke out? The desk clerk did bring a fan at my request, but even the fan was weak and barely put out any air. Hey hotel, either change your fitness room or buy decent fans! I never could get this resolved over my stay. So fitness fans, stay away. Now the positive:
The room was a large room with 2 beds and a living area with a homey fireplace. Very comfortable and well-lighted. No complaints on my room. Marriotts should copy Hiltons and provide complementary water. The hotel was very quiet and no rowdy kids.
