The new owners of Spencer House greeted us warmly and made our stay in Erie wonderful. Having owned the B&B now for just a few weeks, they are in the midst of painting the exterior, doing additional restoration of this beautiful Victorian home, and considering new wall papers for some of the public spaces. The rooms have been redone, we were told (having not stayed there previously). My room, the Presidential Suite, was exceptional large and comfortable, with a nice bath (which has a lot of the original features). The B&B was very reasonably priced and included WIFI. Breakfast was a treat -- cinnamon chip pancakes (yum!), eggs, freshly cut fruit salad (you'll be asked to guess the secret ingredient), and wonderful potatoes -- all in the right portions and served beautifully. They have also thoughtfully researched and appear to be continuing to research the history of the home.
Our work in Erie will be going on over the next year, and members of our team hope to stay there again.
