“Irreputable business practice, Awful Management, Awful Smell.”

Although they advertise the Choice Hotel chain Privileges membership in the room (for which I am a member), they do not honor one of their major perks, late checkout, which we requested upon arrival. We were told a manager would confirm in the morning, which they did not. At 11:05 am, as we were on our way out we recieved a knock at the door to verify we were leaving, which we were, and did. We held the door open for housekeeping, left a generous tip, and were on our way. Upon checking the credit card, we discovered we were charged for an extra nights stay, at a higher rate, for which we have been told they can do nothing about. They advertise "newly renovated, " which left us very confused... Our room smelled like a bowling alley from the mid 1970's. As a frequent traveler, this is the worst hotel I have ever experienced in all categories... customer service (and we were exremely polite), staff/management, and room quality. Do not stay at this hotel.

“Incompitent”

Overall, avoid this hotel. We had booked a block of rooms for a wedding, and the staff were unable to give us the reserved rooms. They booked people who were not from our wedding into the rooms. When we arrived after our wedding, we were told there were no rooms. Therefore, we had to drive 2 hours home. Also, the police were called on friends of ours when they did not want the cleaning crew to clean the room in the morning when they were still in the room. Dealing with these problems overshadowed what could have otherwise been a respectable stay.

“Inside Out? Still looking for the improvements...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2010

When we drove up to the hotel, we saw that the entire exterior of the building had been stripped bare and workers were blasting the sides of the exterior. The woman greeting us began her well rehearsed speech about the hotel making improvements starting with the rooms and ending with the exterior of the building. We had no other choice given that all hotels in the area had been booked for a local event, so we checked in. The rooms have been updated, but poorly. The furnishings are mediocre and badly laid out. The door to the room and the door to the bathroom stick making it difficult to open. The knob for the air conditioner (on a very hot night) broke off in my hand and couldn't be repaired until the next morning.

I could continue, but I'm tired. Checking into a different hotel tomorrow. Stay away.

“Nothing fancy, but a great stay all the same.”

We stayed at this hotel during the 2009 US Women's Open. It was a good location - immediately off I-78. Very central to Bethlehem, several PA wineries, and Easton attractions like the Crayola Factory. The USGA Headquarter/Museum is only about an hour away.

Our room was comfortable and clean.

The continental breakfast was very good, and was the typical Choice Hotels breakfast, including the great waffles you make yourself.

“Nice place to stay.”

The staff is very friendly and generous. The king-size bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in a hotel. They allow large pets as I was with my Golden Retriever. Continental breakfast is well displayed with plenty to fill your belly. Rooms are roomy and clean. Nice place to stay when traveling through Easton, PA!
