I booked 2 rooms at this hotel, even after reading the not-so-favorable reviews of past travellers. I have stayed at only one Comfort Inn hotel before (Williamsburg, VA) and was actually pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the place, so having been to one, I thought all Comfort Inn hotels were that clean. I was so disappointed right after checking in at this hotel (Easton) though because already, the elevator and hallways stunk (like cigarette/tobacco smoke had embedded itself in the carpet and walls). I don't care about the "need-to-be renovated" appearance, but I sure expect a place to be clean. As soon as I opened our rooms, the same smell permeated the room. The bathroom was disgusting. There was still soap scum and a dark ring around the bathtub, the toilet bowl hasn't been brushed such that you can actually see dried splashes of poop around and underneath the toilet bowl. The floor of the bathroom reeked of dried urine. It seemed like the cleaners just wiped the toilet bowl with a paper towel and swept the floor without actually mopping it. If a male guest unrinated and splashed on the bowl, floor and other surrounding areas, it dried and left its smell in there. I have to comment though that the beds were realtively clean (no bedbugs, no hairs). My pet peeve really is the dirty bathroom and the smelly room.
If you don't mind a dirty bathroom, a cigarette-smoking smell in a NON-SMOKING room, then this review should not matter to you.
The only reason I booked this hotel was to add points to my rewards account.
Room Tip: Askf ro a high floor room away from elevators and vending machines, if you want a quiet room
