They put me in a room on the bottom floor. I won't say first floor because it more resembeled a basement room. Obviously it had been converted from something else to a hotel room. It only had one small window approx. 6 feet from the floor. There were two beds, one of which was less than 1 foot from the door to the hall when it was opened. There was excessive hall noise and, when someone walked in the room above me the I thought the ceiling would fall down. Obviously there was no sound insulation in the walls. Since the room was so small the furniture was miniaturized and ther was no writing paper in the room. There was also no hot water. And here's the rub..... maid service is OPTIONAL. At about 8 AM one morning a maid came to my door and asked if I needed anything. Thinking she was referring to something I may have forgotten, like a toothbrush or a comb, I said I did not. When I returned to the room later that evening I was surprised to discover that the room had not been made up. I later realized that by answering "No" to the question I was actually telling her not to bother to make up the room. I just didn't understand the encrypted code at that time. I abhor this deceptive practice. I filed a grienvance with the corporate office and eventually received a letter that the deception would be terminated in the future (doubtful). I was also told that the "better" rooms are on the second floor.
